I have mixed feelings on the issue. I'm going to keep them to myself until its official and until I know exactly what we are getting. It is interesting though and fun to talk about.

Some of the best information comes from "unnamed sources" and some false informatation comes from "unnamed sources".
I just think people are making way too big of a deal out of it. I highly doubt somebody is going to spread totally false rumors on here and some of the best info comes from message boards.

No doubt, but there are certain stories that require open sources and this one player possibly joining the team is one of them, and for numerous reasons. Everything public contradicts the reports and this one recruit has been "rumored" to be coming to SDSU for years and has yet to.

Seriously Filbert, I am somewhat impressed that you held off on the "go start your own board" point this long. I expected it right out of the gate.

For the record, most all other "big boy" boards allow everyone to speak their mind freely regarding transfers, etc. Not sure why that affects you so much. If there is someone spreading total crap on this board, the members will self police it and it won't last long.

I just don't want the public forums to be cesspools of out-of-control, unsubstantiated rumor--that's the purpose of the attribution rule: to keep that from happening.

Besides, that's what Twitter is for.

I don't mind the rule, I remember 3-4-5-6 years ago where every 2 weeks there was another rumor about said player transferring and why they were transferring. Some were true, some were false, many were half truths or 1/4 truths.

There is a reason this rule is in place, people are transferring for different reasons now but transfers still occur.
