I dont quite understand SDBison. He works in SF with a bunch of Jack fans and hates when they lose and he has to take crap from those fans. Does he not think if a Jack grad was working in Fargo with a bunch of Bison fans, it would be the same thing? My advise to him would be to try to find a new job in Fargo if he cant handle it.

So what your saying is to put it back to how it was before they change frost. That's how it use to be when we used the hanging baskets which I think we should use again. Take out the bleachers the students are in. Put it down to the floor level and have it as wide of a section possible and use the hanging baskets to give a better sight line imo.

              FACT CHECKING:
I think there is one factual error in an otherwise well-written and informative column in the Fargo Forum by Sports Editor Kevin Schnepf. And, unfortunately, it was anerror in SDSU’s “favor”.
Schnepf started this column with the following: Brookings,S.D. - It was 39 years ago almost to the day when South Dakota State played its first men’s basketball game in Frost Arena. The Jackrabbits won that game 77-62 over North Dakota State.

The first game played in Frost was 2/2/1973. I remember the move to Frost from the Barn. I was a sophomore and was employed as the student assistant to Sports Info Director Dave Martin. During basketball season, if I was not running in a track meet, I worked on the stats crew for all home games. My recollection was the 72-73 Jackrabbits, an outstanding team in a North Central Conference that had several outstanding teams, lost the Frost Arena opener.

Schnepf wrote that the Jacks won the Frost opener, 77-62,over North Dakota State. My fact-checking shows Schnepf confused NDSU with UND (heh!) which lost the following day in Frost by the score Schnepf attributes to NDSU. I reached that conclusion by first checking the SDSU media guide. It is a near-perfect recording of all things about Jackrabbit basketball. But, because mistakes can happen, I also checked the media guides of NDSU and UND. The SDSU media guide (available on GoJacks.com) shows the following games at the end of January, 1973, and beginning of February, 1973 (side note: look at the point production when there was no three-point shot!! -- those were the Running 'Rabbits of Jim Marking):

              1/25/73 SOUTHDAKOTA W 89-66
              1/27/73 atMorningside W 103-69
              2/2/73 NORTH DAKOTASTATE L 95-100
              2/3/73 NORTHDAKOTA W 77-62

Next, the NDSU media guide: Information confirmed: NDSU came to Frost 2/2/73 and beat the Jacks 100-95. Third, the UND media guide also confirmed as it lists UND losing to SDSU in Frost on 2/3/73, 77-62.

Trust me, the students will all be out Thursday. Everyone's supposed to wear a white shirt, btw, for some freeze out? Tyler mentioned it on the air yesterday

                  Hanging baskets? Are you serious?

Pretty sure the student sections aren't going to change. What will change, when we no longer need the track is the seats above the students will likely be raised and extended around the corners (like the Cameron picture, sort of) so that there will be fewer rows on top, but at least as many seats since they'll go all the way around on three sides. I am also guessing that the new seats will be redone at that time so the sight lines there will improve. Add a bunch of restrooms and concession stands in the new concourse and you have a revitalized facility. There are a lot of possibilities in Frost, despite the fact that it's a relatively small space. Once it no longer needs to be a multi-purpose facility, they can tailor it for basketball.

Anyone else curious why there has been no word about the severity of Wright's injury ? The x-rays were supposed to be done last night. It seems if it was just a sprain, that word would be out by now. Could be that if there was enough swelling that they might have delayed the tests. Have been checking their board and nothing there either.

This stuff is over twenty years old. How can it be of interest to gojacks? Just kidding. It is an interesting fact check. I was living in California at the time. Had no clues about SDSU BB except the Sunday LA times which often printed the scores, beyond that no message board, no streaming no nothing. Times have changed for the better. Kevin did a nice job with his column by the way.

TV retweeted a Fargo sportswriter who said that Wright's x-rays were done today and results may not be known until tomorrow.

I'm fine with this. If they can find a way to squeeze more students into the student section and keep it where it's at, I am perfectly fine with it. There were students that just stood in the aisles of the student section yesterday, which was fine.

It happened on his first step on the back leg IIRC. Bad deal, I hope Braun and Wright are back for the tourney. That would be one electric Final or Semifinal.
