Either way it is good that there are those who can go back to Fargo and share about this defeat with those that did not come. It was a game that had to give the Summit some juice for the conference race. (I think we can talk about the Jacks as being a legitimate contender for the regular season title.) Go Jacks!
    Really?

At 18:45, NDSU's Felt hit a three, making the score 40-33.

And then NDSU took a trip to the freezer. It had nothing to do with refs (and if anyone wanted to complain about the refs at that time, it should be SDSU fans and Heemstra's parents...he picked up two quick ones that are head-scratchers). It had a lot to do with SDSU contesting NDSU on every shot and SDSU getting the rebounds.

NDSU didn't score again until 9:47 when they hit a two, making the score SDSU 50, NDSU 42.

By about the 6:50 mark, it was SDSU 58, NDSU 45, and the Jacks were in control. The defense was now doing to NDSU what NDSU's defense had done to SDSU early in the game.

Just before the game started...here's a picture looking at the SE corner of Frost to give those who weren't there, some idea of the crowd density. You can see a seat here and there but there weren't many left. People were on the top row of the bleachers, all the way to the corners. One of the nice things about Frost: there really aren't any bad seats in the place.

The main three SDSU coaches (FB, MBB, WBB) have been in Brookings a long time, but just how long?

I will have to respectfully disagree. I was there, and I don't believe there were more than 100 Bison fans.

We will need to get JackJD to blow that one up. The pic at this point would be a good impressionist print since blue is the primary color. I could make the case that all the yellow shirts to the top are bison. We should make the athletic department get a head count on bison when entering premises)

The ones that were there certainly didn't make much noise - even in the first half when things were going their way.

As someone who sat general admission behind the students, those seats are terrible. I could see about 2/3 of the court. I will not pay $20 to sit in general admission again.

Just curious, but could they lower the student sections and have them enter from floor level while re-doing the reserved behind the bench next summer? Student section entering from above is going to cause issues for the upper level seated above.

This is very true, and the SDSU athletic administration is very aware of it. I remember hearing that some of the issues couldn't be fixed until the Fieldhouse gets built because they still have to utilize the track around Frost. Just another reason the shovels need to in the dirt this May so we can get that Indoor Practice Facility up and running ASAP.

It would make sense to have some regular bleachers for the students that go to the floor.. That would be an update that might add more seats. The current bleachers for students waste a bunch of space and reduce seating too. I would hope they get the students closer to the floor. Is there a reason to keep students away other than having them storm the floor? There is normally enough security at games to keep order if the need arises. We may need to move dance team to side with bleachers to the floor.

I noticed a major difference about seeing the court from reserve seating along the bench side, too. If the action is in the closest corner to you all you see is heads and shoulders, if that.

I love the response you got to the identical post on Bisonville. It looks like one Bison fan from Sioux Falls is quite the sore loser!

"we don't give a crap here about your rural hick show. Also, who in ND gives a flying F you have had your coaches for 13 years. Other than womens basketball you got nothing........ the other two coaches are mediocre. So when these guys finally retire, leave, or get fired, good luck getting a truly good mens basketball or football coach to come to Brookings. What you really need to do is start some tradition around SDSU, get your lazy uncaring grads in Sioux Falls to get involved, and maybe you will have some real success in mens athletics"

Damn it is fun when we beat the Bison!

I guarantee that is "SD Bison"...one level above LakesBison and one level below a snail. He is an example of what fans of every other school other than NDSU hate about NDSU fans...he needs to be medicated IMO.

It was an electric afternoon to see the parking lots filling and the bleachers filling more than 30 minutes before the game. Normally there is a fairly regular reserved sections that fill closer to game time and the total attendance is tipping on the number of season ticket holders. Yesterday was not one of those days. It was similar to the days when general admission may be in line for half an hour(or more) outside before the doors opened in an attempt to get the best possible seat. It was an excellent home crowd.

Your absolutely correct Kemo.....the only work that will be done in Frost before the indoor practice facility is complete will be the reserved seating on the south side. They will be removed and reworked to increase seating and improve sight lines. Once the indoor practice facility is done the indoor track at Frost will be removed and a major over haul to Frost arena will begin.

As far as seating behind the student section......you don't want to get to Frost early and sit in the first 4 or 5 rows on the east or west GA seats behind the students. They all stand up and completely block any chance of seeing the game. However, if you read the sports page from the Fargo Forum they call Frost the best venue in the Summit League and I agree.
