Re: Western Illinois
Just another shout out for Nate making it to 2000+ points as a Jackrabbit! 8-13 shooting, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, & 3 steals. By the way, he helped the Jacks get another road win in front of a partisan crowd. Maybe the players think a regular season conference title is possible too. Go Jacks!! Also, there were 3 other starters in double figures scoring as they finished with 51.2% FG shooting.Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. I love this outcome for many obvious reasons. Not lost in the mix is the fact that Walters had a "normal" productive night against a team that has defended him better than any in his career. This 22 point, 6 assist game is impressive to me against this team.
Last year against Western Nate was held to 17 points, 6 assists in Macomb, then 10 points, 6 assists in the Frost Arena game, and of course the ugly 14 points, 4 assists that Nate struggled for as the Jacks won in Sioux Falls to qualify for the NCAA tournament. The Zen philosopher Basha once wrote, 'A flute with no holes, is not a flute. A donut with no hole, is a Danish.'

Re: Western Illinois @ Macomb
It's time to make a run. The next four games include IUPUI then three at home. The WIU announcers mentioned our home winning streak (only behind Kansas and Syracuse in length) multiple times last night.
After another excellent all-around game, Wolters is currently leading the league in both scoring and assists. He is fourth in steals and even tenth in rebounds! He averages more rebounds per game than Bjorklund. Amazing.

The Jacks just have to be prepared to put the beatdown on the Jags on Saturday night and not think that they can call it in. Hopefully the bench will get to play although I believe that there must be lingering injury concerns for Prince. Getting Horstman some minutes and confidence would be really good. Bittle and Heemstra played well for us last night but I would really like to see more than a 7 man rotation - as much for next year as for this year. Losing Tony and Nate will leave a huge hole and although Jake and Marcus are looking nice, we need more experience on the bench than Horstman who so far has seen the floor in less than half of the 20 games played so far. Prince, once healthy should be able to step into the rotation with relative ease.Message for the youth: “Set your goals high and work for them, because if you set your goals where they should be, it’s going to require a lot of hard work.
