Biggest game of the year. They have a free pass to the tournament and regardless of their opponent there it won't be as big as this game.

Thankfully, the Jacks are done with road rivalry games this year. Too bad we didn't win either of them. Still have tough away games with WIU and Oakland, and anyone's guess games against the Indiana schools.

There is no edge to this team. They will continue to lose until they up their frequency. They'll win games no doubt but there's no will no swag or at least the kind that comes with high expectations. I said earlier in the year that they will will need to take it up a notch whatever it is, and they r not. There letting teams that want to beat them beat them.

Congrats to USD, though. They did put up the points to win.

that they did. Just caught the second half. Watched them against ndsu and after that I just cannot believe this score.

First they discuss the record. Nate wants to talk about the game, not the record.
Nate: no energy. dig that kind of hole,...unbelievable we can't learn from that.
Just have to play harder. Really tough loss.

Tyler: What turned the tide in the second half? Starting knocking down shots.

Oakland coming in Thursday: Yeah, definitely a good team. Good to get back home.

Tyler: I know it's hollow but congratulations on the record and we'll see you back in Frost.

Next up: Nagy. This may be interesting.
Should be a Grade A butt-ripping. And rightfully so.

Nagy: We just don't respond when other teams get up for us.

I told the players I love 'em and they'll get it figured out. There's no one more disappointed than they are.
There's gotta be a point at which you get tired of feeling this well.

Credit USD -- this is a superbowl for them but they handled it well both years.

Tyler asked about Nate's record: Yeah, we're all super proud of Nate but he'll tell you he's had great teammates...he doesn't feel good about it at all but when he gets away from this he'll feel better about it.

Chad had a good weekend scoring and needs to continue that and I think the rest of the guys need to fill in.

Tyler wants to talk about Heemstra: He's one of our best rebounders, one of our most intelligent and communicative players. I'm happy for him he was able to contribute as he did.

Tyler: good Oakland team coming into Frost Thursday night. Yeah, will be nice to get back home.

Part of it is our fault for scheduling. Looks like we've been on the road for about a monht. We have to be a little more careful about that (in the future).
We haven't been home much...nice when school starts and get back to a routine.

My thoughts: I've heard Nagy more disappointed. We could have totally shut down after that first half...we spent so much time digging a hole...at least we didn't jump into the hole and pull the dirt on top of us.

Next year, we need to put a solitary basketball hoop in the middle of a field...no trees, nothing for background in sight. And then just shoot until we start making them.

Alabama smoked Oakland by 20 in Tuscaloosa. Going by the tried and true comparative scoring method, we should win by 17 on Thursday.

Wow. Oakland played/s 15 of their first 20 on the road. That's rough.

One point I appreciated about the Coyotes this year. They came out to play ball. You can tell they are more confident about their players (and they should be). For those who remembered last year at Vermillion, you watched some gimmick basketball ... all it needed was "Sweet Georgia Brown" being whistled in the background. Hey, it worked so hats off to them. But this game showed the Coyotes were ready to play real basketball...and they did. Hard to beat a team shooting the way they did.

Well, in the friendly confines of Frost Arena, every team can shoot well...including us. Prediction for Frost rematch: SDSU 87, USD 61.

That's the only word that's accurate. Unacceptable. Feel bad for Nate that he has so little reliable help. Huge, huge congrats to him on the SDSU scoring record. Without him, we'd have lost by 45 today. Too bad it was all in vein. Dug way, way too big of a hole against a bad team. That's the bottom line. Did NDSU have this problem? No. Not at all. And we shouldn't either. I let my major rant go at halftime, so I'll sign off soon. Soft performance by a soft team. It's a long shot that this team wins the conference tourney unless there's a major gut check. And I don't think we have it in us. Can't win games only showing up for a half...not even against a shabby team in a shabby barn.

How huge are the five-on-three transition and Hemstra putback missed bunnies? Both basically uncontested. Huge, huge, huge. Hemstra...a major disappointment so far in his career. Dykstra did nothing today until it was too late.

Can't even make a decent pass at game's end to get the ball to half court. In fact, three in-bounds pass attempts that were just plain sh--ty. Just plain sh--ty. Seems appropriate.
I dis agree. I thought heesmtra was good today. Made a few jumpers and went after rebounds when others were not. Missed some but atleast he tried. Can't say much else about the other guys. Who wants to bet usd loses to umkc next. His one big mistake was the inbound pass but it was over well before that.
