Power teams hate it but mid majors are legit and are going to start seeing imo more mid majors who don't get an auto bid will be getting a bid over power teams with a questionable record who always got in before.
But could they do it night in and night out, if they played in one of those power conferences? There is a big difference in playing 1 or 2 big games per year and playing them twice a week all year.

Yes, yes, "power" conference teams are always and forever better than other, lesser schools, who simply can't compete with their betters.

      There.

      Happy now?

This idea that teams should just bow to the superiority of teams from the so called power conferences is bunk. Just because a school has a huge athletic budget doesn't make their athletics automatically better. The better programs from the smaller conferences could readily compete with the lessor schools in the power conferences day in and day out. Those same smaller programs would struggle with the better programs in the power conferences, just as do their lessor conference mates.

It isn't the conference that makes the program. It is the program that makes the conference.

I wasn't calling out small conference teams in general. My comment was in reference to the guy that said a small conference team that went out in the first round would compete with the elite teams in the nation on a regular basis.

No, they can't compete on a regular basis. It was just a homerific comment by a fan of a small conference team.

No, that would be Bo Ryan. I can't stand that guy, but I'm a Gopher fan so...

Count me in with Goon regarding Coach K. Duke does everything right and they get ridiculed for it. I wasn't cheering for them against Lehigh as I'm always for the upset, but I'm not a Duke hater as a lot of other people are. I see no reason for it. Coach K does a lot of good for A LOT of people. And he does it the right way.

Kampe, hunter, fife, just 3 who worked in the summit league who act out on the court and yell and refs 10 times more then coach K. Sorry but that's just haters hating.
Do you really believe that? I watch college basketball religiously. At least two games every night, every week, all winter. I've never seen a bigger cry-baby in the history of any sport.

I was looking at the NCAA Bracket, and apparently the game was still in progress. Thanks for the correction.
I dont suppose that makes SDSU 9 PTS better than Colo. They beat us by 8.

                              Actually it does......

                              On a side note.....
                              Vanderbilt beat Kentucky
                              Xavier beat Vanderbilt
                              ORU beat Xavier
SDSU beat ORU......never understood why we didn't get that #1 seed. Just another example of the man holding us down.

this game is already paying dividends. according to TV and todays argus they have already had their first commitment. a verbal from a kid in Bixby Oklahoma. 6'4" 190 pound guard, averages 12 pts a game in OK's largerst conference. drove down to querqei and watched the Jacks play, said that is what he wants to do, got home and verballed to the Jacks. will sign next month.
