Minnesota just beat a decent Northwestern team in the first round of the Big Ten Conference.

I think this should knock Northwestern off the bubble. Big 10 has been the best conference but I'm not convinced by a 8-10 conference team with 12 losses overall and a first round exit at the hands of an underachieving Gopher team. Accepting a team like Northwestern based almost solely on the quality of the top teams in the conference is part of what is wrong with trying to increase the number of BCS at-large bids.
