RealTimeRPI.com, as of tonight (March 7, 9:09 pm) reports SDSU men are now ranked #50 in RPI. Oral Roberts is 49.

    Link: http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html

Note, RealTimeRPI counts only DI games (our actual record is 26-7 which includes wins over lower-division SW State and Dakota State...the RealTimeRPI includes only DI win/loss and that is why our record is listed as 24-7)

CORRECTION: As noted in the following posts by UWMandSDSU and EvolutionPrime, our actual record is 27-7 so something is amiss with the RealTimeRPI website. I had noted the RealTimeRPI statement of the record, 24-7, and added the two non-DI wins so my post stated, erroneously, 26-7. In any event, it appears the number crunchers are moving our RPI up but the stats may have to be examined.

We are actually 27-7, that website doesn't include our win over Western Illinois yet (for some reason it has us playing South Carolina State on 3/6/12).

I don't this its quite updated yet. ESPN has our record at 27-7 which of course equates to 25-7 there. Last nights game doesn't look to be included yet. Still, #50 is still darn impressive.

*EDIT* Too slow. Too much time waiting for the darn site to load.

UWMandSDSU and EvolutionPrime are correct on the record: 27-7...I added a correction note to the original post. Not sure why the RealTimeRPI site is missing a win etc....

Everyone should be cheering for Buffalo, Western Michigan, Minnesota, Georgia and Washington in the conference tournaments. Every win helps up just a little bit and a conference championship for any of them (especially Buffalo or Washington) would be a nice boost for our resume.

I like www.warrennolan.com His RPI's are upto speed and also has some good information, such as the Nitty Gritty report. That report showed pretty clearly to me why we never would have had a chance at an at large bid. We are 27-7 officially but 25-7 against DI opponents.

Why not go to the source?

NCAA RPI--SDSU is sitting at #48 as of today March 8. ORU is at #50.

If you want to see the "nitty-gritty" and the team sheets that the NCAA selection committee will be looking at, go to this NCAA link.

My take on all of this, the SDSU ladies have now qualified for the fourth time. Everyone, myself included expected a large measure of respect especially after their victory over TCU and near victory over Baylor in 2009. If my memory serves me right they were also ranked in the top 25 in the country in 2009, the year when they defeated TCU. Yet no respect that year or the years following. I, based on history of the women's team and the overall respect South Dakota gets nationally, expect nothing higher than a fourteen seed or fifteen. I hope I am wrong, but even with an RPI of 48, if divided by four regions puts SDSU a twelve seed. Then figure in a Big conference bias and east coast ignorance and we're looking at a 14 or 15 seed.

                        I expect a #14. A #13 would be a wonderment, and a #12 would be a miracle.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. I wouldn't even be surprised if they give SDSU a 16 seed. Just you wait.

I've been thinking the same thing.

Sorry but LOL. A 16 seed. Come on seriously. Let's be real. In all the bracket projections SDSU is projected as. 13.6 so we are a 13-14 at this moment. Men's are so much different than the women's. Getting in year after year is different than having a 48 RPI, beating PAC-12 regular season. plus the committee wants players that are relatively unknown that can blow up at the tourney and make a run. That's what they care about.
