Not sure how wolters was not fouled when he got the steal. We are missing some wide open shots but our D is really giving them problems.

Great effort rebounding and heesmtra I'm saying mvp of the first half.

                      Re: Buffalo

I said it in TV's chat... but I'll repeat it here.

I've gone from "hopeful" that we could win the Summit League tournament.

To probably extremely disappointed if it doesn't happen. This team deserves to make the tournament.

Just a great basketball team to watch. So happy for the players and coaches.

                          Re: Buffalo

My thoughts for what they are worth.

Great job by the coaching staff. We were prepared for what Buffalo does well.

Tremendous effort on the boards. This isn't just a good rebounding team... they are a great rebounding team. Rebounding comes down to alot of things, but Hustle and Effort are first and foremost, we wanted it more than them today.

I know Callahan gets a ton of credit for being our "unsung hero" but he's darn good, and should be recognized as so. He's too good to be an "underrated" guy.

Fiegen is my pick for the "underrated" guy. He works his tail off out there... often against men who are bigger. He screens, he boards, he hustles, he's basically just volunteered to do whatever it takes to help the team win.

Prince had some nice minutes today. Love his strength, and really works the boards. Someone mentioned on TV's chat, that he's the guy who steps into Griff's "Grinder" role. I agree.

Heemstra not only got quality minutes... but made something of them. A couple of beautiful feeds to Wolters, and he held his own against those bigs from Buffalo.

Dykstra is quickly becoming one of the top big men to play for the Jacks, ever. We've never had a big who can move and shoot like that. He's a matchup nightmare. Just a great player. I can't even imagine coaching a HS team against a team with Heemstra and Dykstra together.

I don't care for the "BS" chant from the fans. I guess I'm old or something... I used to do it when I was a student too. But I don't like it. (and get off my lawn!)

Also... the "left, right, sit down" thing. And I did that as a student too. Like I said, I'm getting old. (and I'm keeping your ball, kids! what do you think of that!)

Someone also asked me a question in the last minute or so of the chat, that I answered, but it didn't get in there.
Basically asking why Buffalo was calling timeouts during the press down by 20+ with a minutes left.

The answer is: He was trying to teach something/drive something home to his team. Had nothing to do with "winning" this particular game. They've got games to play, and their own conference tournament to play in too. Coaching isn't just one game at a time. He had something he wanted to do, and point out to his players. I have no problem with that whatsoever.

Mad props to the espn announcing team. They did a great job. Certainly a big "step up" from the ladies who did the summit league championship. Very complimentary of the school, and the arena. The fans were loud, the place was pretty full, certainly the most fired up I've been about watching a regular season game from my living room.

This is a very good Jackrabbit team. Very Good.

I was impressed by their size and athleticism. We won that game on the free throw line.

It has nothing to do with being old. That cheer has no place at a game where there are families...not to mention that there is a national TV audience. Try to make a good impression so that the cameras want to come back. Besides, I am not sure that the plays they were chanting it at were even that bad of calls. Those cheers kind of ruined what was otherwise an entertaining crowd

The cheers...whatever. It's going to happen. But you are completely right about the students complaining about calls that were correct. I thought that was even worse than normal today. People freaked out when Dykstra obviously pushed that guy in the back in the first half. It was pretty lame. The only two head scratch calls for me was the continuation and-1 in the second half (brutal) and the touch foul on Jordan that picked up his 3rd or 4th foul. It was the play where the guy spun on him in the baseline and he somehow got called for something. Other than that, I thought the officials were pretty good.
