Re: USD
Blah Blah Blah, wax poetically about this and that. We got out coached a little bit in this one. Jeez, if this happened just two year ago, we would still be happy as hell we where we were sitting in the standings. Everybody wanted the rivalry back...so guess what? We got it, and it isn't going to be a win every time in our favor. Throw records out the window is the cliche, and that's what USD did. Good for them, they won their Super Bowl. Move on and let's roll the rest of the season through the tourney! My confidence in this team is only strengthened considering they were able to come back from 20 down and almost take that game back, something they really hadn't been able to do before. With fans like this who needs enemas.....

Re: USD
How do you manage to not have a shoot around. Losing to teams in the last 1\4 of rpi teams is not good. To me this and the und lose cheapens the u dub and oru wins. Can we blame it on being a young team still? Nagy is still learning a lot. It almost appears in our losses that motivation is a problem. When you are talented enough like we are. Knowing the dance is possible not sure how we are not motivated for every game."The most rewarding things you do in life, are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.” Arnold Palmer

Re: USD
USD had the right gameplan but how many step back threes and off balance shots fell last night for USD? How many wide open 3's did SDSU miss. It seemed like the shots were similar to Brookings just that USD's went in this time and SDSU's didn't. I do think USD had more energy they were getting more lose balls, but still sometimes you just have those nights. SDSU missed their first 10 3's, I'd say 7 of them wide open, if they make 4 of them its a totally different game.
You will lose bad games on the road, it happens.

Re: USD
It's tough on the road in front of 8,500 fans... wait... that's 5,800.... no, wait... it was 5,100. We heard a lot of projections from USD "sources" about huge numbers for this game. They only missed it by 3,400. In the end, not so huge. USD had to be a little disappointed.
That said... those fans were into it and definitely made a difference in the game.
It's just a basketball game. On that night USD played better and made a couple more shots. Like joeboo, I'm trying not to think about how the game would have changed had we hit some of those wide open threes.Holy nutmeg!

Re: USD
Hats off to USD for coming out and playing like they did
With that said...We played like doggy poop missed a number of wide open shots and for some reason the defense reminded me of last years defense. Overall not mad about the loss just very disappointed. I hope we bounce back and blow out UMKC.
I would hate to be UMKC

Re: USD
What sticks in my mind is the missed rebound on Tecker's FT miss on the 1&1. If we get that then we have the ball for the last shot down by 2, and who knows, maybe Nate hits it, ala Austin Rivers, and we walk out of there a winner. I slowed down that play on TV and Griff just failed to box out. Andreotti slipped right by him because Griff couldn't box out. Ugh. This is not an excuse for losing but why WOULDN'T you have a shootaround, especially at a place none of them have ever played before. I think at the Dump, opposing teams have to have a shootaround to become familiar with the place.

Re: USD
i think we need to realize that this game was alot more out of our control than we think. you gotta look at our season as a whole and access our full body of work. we're good but we're not the center of the basketball universe and this was a much needed experience for usd. theres a place and time for everything and last night was usd's moment and hopefully our time will be in sioux falls. granted we've constructed a nice little work of art with this season already. crushed washington, great summit league wins, 2nd in conference, sellout at frost, espn game, serious wolters recognition etc.. and on top of all that we have some awesome opportunities left... its all goooood

Re: USD
I believe that with a 3 game lead on NDSU with 4 to play, we need only win one game since we have the tie breaker over them by beating ORU and NDSU having lost to them twice. This way we would retain the #2 seed.
Granted I'd rather be playing well than losing 3 of the remaining 4 conference games, but getting that #2 seed is important. How important? I guess we'll see."All I know is what I read on the message boards."
"Oh, well, there's your problem, then."

Perhaps others on this board with collegitate experience at SDSU can reference some special motivating tactics that they were part of that were needed for a time like this?
If we get dumped early in Sioux Falls, I am pointing directly back to this game.

Embarrassing is the best way to describe it. Concerning, perhaps a little. Indicative of something more, I hope not but time will tell. Darn glad the Jacks get to play again tomorrow. We are here to add what we can to life, not get what we can from life. -Sir William Osler

Re: USD
Of course as a big Duke fan I've had a pretty good week and can't complain too much, but what they say about Duke can be applied to the Jacks in this situation: "Live by the 3, Die by the 3".
I long for the days of Elton Brand and Carlos Boozer.........and maybe even Brian Zoubek
