According to some posters, this is not possible:
Via Vandrovec, the NBADraft.net mock draft for today 10 Apr 2013:

    26. Minnesota. Nate Wolters
    "I think we'll be OK"

I am sure he had a number of agencies contact him. I know he wanted to save this process until after the season to keep the distractions to a minimum. You can bet the guy he chose has good connections to Europe as well. Gotta keep options open. I will say this is the first NBA draft that I will be following closely

That would be a great scenario for Nate. All first-rounders get guaranteed contracts, right? Of course, I am biased as a T'Wolves fan. At any rate, the latest projections sure are not showing his draft stock to be dropping.

What posters said it wasn't possible?

I never said he wasn't going to get drafted. I've clearly wronged Filbert in a past life.

It is comical that some posters are already playing the card that he's good enough to be in the NBA, but he won't, because it's just not in the cards for him. Did you know I was good enough to win the Masters? I just didn't get the breaks I needed to get an invitation.

I've made my position clearly known, no ifs or buts about it. I have also stated that I hope he proves me wrong and both of my kids get Wolters jerseys in their stockings next year.

Would be interesting to dig up the Dale Moss thread to see what the predictions were there.

Too bad we don't have vbucks on this board.

Well I guess he needs to simply bail on the idea and head off to the D League, or Europe. YOU HAVE SPOKEN!!!

Ya it's quite silly some people are saying he has a slim to none shot in the NBA when he is projected to get drafted. I'd rather be wrong supporting my team and its players than right and not support my teams and players.

Please interpret, then: "I know I'm the negative Nancy today, and I'm just going to say it - I think he's destined for a life in the D-League or overseas."

You might be right - even the most balyhooed draftees don't make it sometimes - but what else are you saying other than you don't think he is going to make it?

I did not know that supporting SDSU athletics requires you to wear your blue and yellow glasses at all times. This board's stated purpose is to "Support SDSU Athletics" and some of your sure pile on if someone disagrees.

Rather than support your own opinion with something other than "well, NBAdraft.net says this", you come with the derogatory comments that does nothing but make people not want to come back here.

TK doesn't think Nate is going to do well in the NBA......let's get him! I'll be honest - My opinion of some of the people on this board has completely changed over the last few months.

You are all welcome to be homers at every turn. I guess I will have to be the one to continue to supply some dose of reality and take the beating that comes with it.

I'm not saying anything else, but this is not the section you bolded when you quoted me previously. You can't have your cake and eat it it too - i.e., he's going to get drafted but for some stroke of God he will not be allowed to play in the NBA - even though he's good enough - because some team that wants him doesn't have the cap room blah blah blah. That's the kind of fence riding that annoys the crap out of me. That opinion is of someone who wants to be right no matter how things shake out..........rather than taking a position and defending it.

He was talking to jacksfan who implied that wolters should not try to get in the nba, which is not what the tk poster believes.

I agree with most of what you wrote. And I understand what you were saying in your post above. It was a reference to previous posters, not his opinion.

I personally think Nate will make it. Part of that might be me wearing Yellow and Blue glasses, but what I think differentiates Nate is his ability to control a game with ball handling and passing. He isn't an uber-athlete so he has relied on his basketball IQ to be successful to this point in his career. I also think his defensive ability is also under-rated. He was part of a defense that shut down Trey Burke and forced others to beat us. The others did that game. They play team defense in the NBA too, so I think he can be successful even though he isn't the quickest or tallest or "fill in the blank". There are really good point guards in the NBA who aren't what I would consider uber-athletes. Think Steve Nash.

Now that being said, that's my largely uneducated opinion, and I would not be shocked if he was drafted and landed in the D-league.

I think the biggest thing for Nate would be to get taken in the first round and get guaranteed money.

I was just personally stating what my view is, not that you had to believe my beliefs. Honestly, I think the biggest problem is saying he is overseas or D-League is that nobody really honestly knows other than the mock drafts but after that is a total unknown. NBA potential is crazy tough to predict so we won't know until he has that chance to shine whether that be in the Summer League or during the season. I'm just going to say hes going to make it until the league tells me otherwise. I guess we can agree to disagree.
