    Re: Southern Utah

I don't think Marcus will ever be much of an offensive threat, but if he can put on some weight and improve his "D" that would be helpful.

He could have most certainly used a redshirt year, but as stated by others, we didn't have that luxury.

I have liked what I saw from even the little bit of time Marcus has played lately. For instance, when he got into the Oakland game, he took it right at Benson. Even though he missed the shot, I like his aggressive style and think it will help us in the next few years.

Others have already talked about why we weren't able to redshirt Marcus, which I agree with.

I think we are thinking of the same move. I really liked that play as well.

But they also have playing chemistry (just like Tony and Chad have). The centers for SUU weren't built so there isn't any reason Marcus couldn't have gotten some minutes with either Tony or Jordan (they both are 4's) and Griff could have moved to the 3 (or Chad).
I agree with what you said about wanting to see Jordan on the floor with either Tony or Marcus a little more. The problem with your comment is about moving Griff or Chad to the 3. If Dale continues to play the way he has the last 3 games, Griff and Chad aren't going to replace him at the 3.

I also agree with those who say that if we find a 5 sometime over the next couple of years, Jordan is going to be a great player.

            Here are his stats:

and like I said before we didn't really have an option to red shirt him, did we?
It just seems as though the majority of his minutes are coming during blowout wins. I would feel better about losing a redshirt if he was getting more minutes in tight games because he was needed and not games where we are winning by larger margins.

              Re: Southern Utah

Nagy has always been a guy that gives minutes to guys that earn them.

Tivis came in fairly early and played several different times in this game. Imming asked Nagy about it in the post game interview and Nagy basicly said that he was happy with Tivis and that he earns every minute he gets. Certainly we have more talented players at that position but it is known that Tivis works his but off.

For whatever reason Heemstra hasn't gotten as much time as we figured he might. That could be for any number of reasons which only Nagy knows.

The point made above is valid. He is a true freshman. Making a transition from high school to D1 basketball isn't easy and he may still be adjusting. There is no doubt that he is athletic and will get there. Hope he gets hot or whatever soon because he could be a big asset in Sioux Falls.

But Dale does need some bench time. Can't have the starters on the court for all 40 minutes of the game. I'm not saying Dale doesn't deserve to start. He has played very good defense this year and his offense has really picked up as of late (his defense has improved the most of anyone on the team compared to last year).
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--
