I think he has two chances at the NBA, slim and none.

Impossible to answer right now. Nate is a great basketball player but nowhere near the caliber of player it takes to make a NBA roster as an underclassman.

Aside, I remember when some were actually suggesting Ben Woodside might be drafted. He was an amazing college basketball player and he has only the slimmest of a chance of ever making a NBA roster, probably no chance. Nate is no Ben Woodside, not yet anyways.

I think Wolters can be better, just needs to get the rest of the team to play better and would not surprise me to see Wolters lead SDSU to the NCAA tourny as Ben did.

I'm kind of counting on him to do just that. When he does, and even if he does it 3 times, I still don't think he is the caliber of player that it takes to make the NBA. I do think he is in the discussion as the best point guard in the Summit and that is good enough for me.

Maybe he could play for the die force. I meant sky, they are awful. No I doubt he has a chance beyond, and frankly, only he would know what his future plans for basketball would be after his time here, and what ever he goes for will be the right choice for him.

Is he any less athletic than Steve Nash or John Stockton?

If he can distribute the ball while not turning it over and continue to knock down 3's and show the ability to penetrate he'll at least get a look.

I'm not saying he's going in the draft or anything, but he'll get a look.

SDSU wins the league then the kid will win player of the year. And you really believe he is the "best player" in the league. I doubt he would be in the first 4. I would take Benson, Young, Morrison, Hudson, Tweet, if I was drafting a team from our league before I took him.

Wolters is a great player and I'm glad he is a Jackrabbit. I look forward to seeing him in a Jackrabbit uniform for 2 1/2 more years. He will never play in the NBA and that doesn't matter.

Not sure what you mean. I've yet to see anyone post something negative about him on BV, only that the coaches should play him 40 minutes a game.

Wolters is a great mid-major guard but he isn't George Hill. It takes a special talent to make it to the NBA, a player that has the right mix of talent and measurables.

That said he can play in Europe if he wants and make a lot of money doing so as long as he continues to improve.

Thanks for the final word. He is just a sophmore and does not have to be George Hill to make it to the NBA. I see plenty of role players in the NBA including the Timberwolves Luke Ridnour who is no more talented or certainly athletic than Nate.

I respectfully disagree, Nate is no comparison to Luke Ridnour, and he doesn't need to be. He's the best PG in the Summitt, not the NCAA.

Here's a link to Woodside's numbers his senior year. He was a great player, but he wasn't even close to the NBA....

                              This.

Luke Ridnour was a damn good college player, as well. That Oregon team he was on was entertaining.

This NBA talk is pretty premature. But for the sake of discussion:

                                Woodside (SR) - 23.2ppg, 6.2apg, 3.2rpg, 1.4spg

                                Wolters (SO) - 19.4ppg, 6apg, 4.2rpg, 1.4spg

Woodside was 5"11, Wolters is 6'3". That's a pretty big advantage when it comes to making an NBA roster.

IMO, the question is whether or not Nate has reached his potential. He is a sophomore, so I would think not. If Wolters keeps improving and playing well for the next 2.5 years, I don't see why he couldn't have a better chance at the NBA.

There were 2 or 3 teams in the country who thought Wolters was good enough to play DI out of high school. Today, there are at least 2 Big 10 teams that would like to have him on their roster. Who knows where he will be at in another 3 years.
