    Re: Iowa game...

Impressive win. Wolters must be in incredible shape - don't think he sat at all in the second half. Nagy will need to sit him for at least a minute or two every now and then . Hard to make it through a season playing that many minutes, especially at the point.

I know I saw South Dakota State on the television and recognized the logo but who were those guys playing Iowa. What a game, if they take that to the rest of the season look out Summit League. Last years team would have went into panic mode with a lead that late. This year is going to be fun I think.

Took a gander at the Iowa blog and apparently the crowd got loud the second half.. Good to win in a hostile place like that. I've got Dec. 4 circled on the calendar. One game at a time but THAT is the statement game.

I thought it was interesting in Nagy's Comments at the end of the game he said Several Times that he didn't think we played very well.

Kind of a good thought huh? Beat Iowa not playing well.

COACH McCAFFERY: I felt like there were some positives today and there were some negatives. Clearly I think you have to give great respect to South Dakota State and how they executed. It was not unexpected. Studying them, watching them on film, watching them the other night against Eastern Illinois, they've got a savvy team with a terrific point guard. I thought Wolters essentially controlled the game today. We went after him, rotated players on him, tried to disrupt him. Obviously we went after Sargent. I thought Eric did a pretty good job on him for a good portion of the game, then he got away from us a little bit.

Hustle, defense, rebounding, minimal turnovers and no fear, those are the reasons we dominated for most of this game and the EIU game. I believe we only had 10 turnovers today and 11 on Wednesday. You are going to win most games if you don't give the ball away and shoot reasonably well, rebound well. These were not fluke wins against poor teams. Neither team is great but they are certainly on par with most of the Summit teams and teams from similar conferences. Very promising signs in these first two games.

I have to figure out a way to get up to Frost and see these guys in person. Keep it rolling rabbits!!!

Was at the game. Sweet win for a Jackrabbit living in Hawkdom. Jacks actually rattled the Hawks on their home floor...especially at the end of the first half...and didn't panic when Iowa came back. Wolters is very impressive. Looks like Dykstra is going to be a player. Whole team hustled and gave Hawk big men trouble when they put the ball on the floor.

Congrats on the win over Iowa. Wins like that will help our collective rpi. Wolters is a special player and some of the other guys show a lot of promise. Again, nice start into the season.

Very cool. Very positive sign for the conference season. This Jacks team obviously can shoot the ball and move it without a lot of turnovers. Judging by foul totals, defending big guy on the other team will be a challenge. But great start, Jacks. Two impressive wins.

they can also bring the ball up court against the press pretty well. Wolters owned the floor today.
