The 15% or so that are most vocal here are very accomplished whiners. I've honestly never seen whining of this magnitude before. It's pretty impressive...and actually getting a bit hard to follow, so hopefully in this list below I didn't miss a whine session or two about other topics involving the Griz.

You guys whine about the Griz never playing on the road in non-conference regular season... The Griz fans on here show you all that what you are saying is false (only 1 year this decade the Griz didn't have a road non-conference regular season game).

So then there's whining about the Big Sky getting 3 teams in, like it really has anything to do with the Griz.. Sorry, but Bobby Hauck didn't call up the selection crew and slip them a couple hundred dollar bills to put Weber in the playoffs...

Then you whine about the fake punt / fg...yet leave out the fact that your own coach called a timeout when the Griz were trying to run out the clock.. What did the Griz do after they got the first down on the fake punt? They ran out the clock instead of running up the score.

Now you are back to whining about the buyout again? You make it sound like the Griz do this type of thing all the time, but don't actually have any facts to back up your statements. Maybe the person you should be whining to is your own AD for allowing a contact to be signed that had a buyout option?

It's interesting how when a few Griz fans try to defend their program and point out the many inaccuracies of what's being said, many here act all surprised and some of it gets labeled as smack? Here's an idea..go back to the beginning of this thread and see who fired the first shots in this thread that started out as a "Congratulations" to the Jacks...

I hope the few of you who seem incredibly butt hurt about a large variety of things involving the Griz eventually get the chip off your shoulder when you come out here to watch the game. Who knows...you might actually have some fun and realize the two fan bases aren't all that different. It's just football folks..

USD is like 32-3 at home over its last 35 games, when you can win on the road it shows that you are a great team....

I guess what I am saying is Montana CAN do what they want because they have a 27,000 seat stadium that is full every week, but SDSU would of been atleast 10-1 if they'd have the schedule that Montana had so just saying you are better then SIU because you are undefeated I think has some holes in that argument....
There is a reason we play our playoff games at home, because we earned the right to over the course of the season, year in and year out. And there is a reason we have a 26,000 seat stadium, because the fan support is there. If your team is able to put together half the run the Grizzlies have had over the last 15 years, you could be in the same position that we are.

Or maybe I would have gone with Liberty at 10-2 or San Diego at 9-2 (and they would have equalled the 16th seed) -- just to demonstrate that they didn't belong and silence some folks.

In fact, I wasn't making a case this year for either Weebs or your No. Iowa.

And as for 2008, making no case for Maine or anybody else with 4 or more losses.

If you're going to fill half the at-large with teams from one conference ... I think the committee should have done better than a four-loss team.

        Period.
I think that four loss team(Weber) would hand you guy's your ass's. Not that you'll get a chance this year. Can't wait till they do the Sky proud and knock Bill & Mary around.

Here is my level headed observation/opinion on why Weber got picked over UNI. I really think the mitigating factors were the fact that UNI's collapse happened relatively recently, and The Committee, and most of the FCS would say that Weber's best win (Eastern WA.) was better than UNI's (Mo State). As well, that redbirds loss didn't look good going into selection sunday.

So you quoted LakeGriz and you told him,"that four loss team would hand you guy's your ass's". So, if I'm reading it correctly, you are saying Weber is better than Montana? :-)
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

I could be wrong on two things:

First, I don't think growler was identifying me as a Jackrabbit, because I'm sure he's seen my post on egriz as "LakGriz." (I lost my "e" in an accident.)

Second, if you will dissect the pronouns a bit, you might read his response as saying that the Weebs would kick the arse of "your" (meaning the Mo Valley's) four-loss team, Northern Iowa.

But I could be wrong ... on one or both.

And by the way, who's this "lakesbison" guy? Ain't me -- we have no love for the bison, either.

                  1. I will send an email to the Athletic Department right away requesting that Chase and Mark don't play this saturday.

                  2. Fortunately for you, I have just as much sway with the trolls that have come over hear as I do with the Grizzly Athletic Department, so my encouragement and example should lead to some positive result right away.

                  Lets hope it all helps.

Couldn't come up with anything else to whine about so just had to put a quick one liner in there? Here zooropa...since you really seem to enjoy whining, I'll give you a topic.

In 1993, the Griz came from behind (trailing 38-13 in the 4th quarter) to beat SDSU 52-48, by scoring 39 points in the 4th quarter. Were the big mean ol' Griz just toying with poor SDSU to get their hopes up high, making them think that they'd win the game, only to crush their hopes in a flurry of TD passes from Dave Dickenson?

Or...is this topic just about as ridiculous as the others you've whined about in this thread?

1: One of Maine's wins was against a D-2 team. 7-4 is correct, as far as the selection committee was concerned.

2: San Diego plays in the scholarship-free cupcake Pioneer League. Their sole quality win was against UC-Davis. They lost to TWO PFL teams.

3: Liberty's D-1 record was 8-2, and they were hurt by both the weakness of the (inappropriately named) Big South, and their losses to Lafayette and Presbyterian College. Their best win was over Elon, which ended the season 7-5, IIRC.

I've said my piece already. SDSU and Montana are very different programs at this stage of things. I won't be trading SDSU's 30 year playoff drought for Montana's two championship wins (and four championship losses) anytime soon.

Hey mods, how about we change the name of this thread to "Bitching about or defending Montana ethics." That way the football posts can go in the other thread and this crap will die a long, twisted, and most likely a painful death.

I believe it was GrizMonster that made the first post in the thread and would like to thank that individual for the classy post. I am sorry it was not reciprocated immediately.

And finally, being rude is not entertaining, does not show greater intellect, is not any where near good smack, and obviously does not support claims of moral superiority. It is just being rude, something most 1st grade teachers have taken care with most students, but somehow the lesson is lost when people get on the Internet.

It is past my bedtime and when I am tired I tend to get cranky; or dare I say rude.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you can never teach a stupid dog anything.
