Can't argue with that. They've got a full, 27,000 seat stadium every week no matter who they play.

I'm happy we get Montana in the first round. No contempt from me. I'd like to beat the Griz. Simple as that.

I think our style of play matches up well with them. And playing the top seed works with the chip Danny Batten and the defense carry around on their shoulders.

I agree and that is what is different with Montana and most of the rest of the FCS.

SIU DESTROYED SDSU at Coughlin. They had a 31-3 lead before they backed off the gas.

        Guess what?

You can go on the SIU fan board and find out what SDSU fans in general think of SIU.

Now, if we were all good fans and passionate to the point of irrationality, we should hate SIU as much as Montana, if not more.

        But most of us don't.

        We respect SIU.

If 'everybody' hates Montana, maybe it's because of how Montana has conducted the business of football over the last few decades.

Just checked out eGriz. Lots of respect for the Jackrabbits there. Quite a few knowledgeable fans, too. Should be a fun week.

You guys have one of the best defenses in the country, versus one of the best offenses. Its going to be great. I am real excited to see your D play live. I don't know that we have played a defense of quite your caliber, MSU was probably the closest. and the other thing you have working to your advantage is that we usually get Southland teams that have real trouble with the weather, being from Brookings I think you guys should be able to handle it pretty well.

I am pretty sure if SIU was as dominant as the Griz, there would be a lot more hate for them. 17 straight playoff appearances, 12th straight conference championship, and more wins in this decade than any other D1 team. Those things alone cause a lot of hate...If SDSU, or SIU makes a run anywhere near that you will see what I mean.

                Here's the deal:

Dale Lennon, the coach of SIU has like a 10-1 record against Stig.

Hard to find people on this board that will say a bad thing about Lennon.

It's not the 17 straight playoff appearances. It's the conduct of the program.

10-1 is not the same. I am talking about total conference and regional dominance. 6 NC appearances, 2 NC's and the most wins of any team in D1. The conduct of the program as an argument is a total straw man. We have really, really, really good teams year after year, and after getting beat up enough times by someone, you will get angry. Its called David Vs. Goliath. No one likes the Goliath, but until someone else in the west steps up to challenge the Griz, there will be plenty of hate. Take a look at a lot of the CAA posters on these various boards.....We have never played them outside of the playoffs, and have had zero interaction with them otherwise. They really don't like Montana...You know why? Complete dominance...No one out here has been able to touch us for a decade...from any conference, and that makes people angry.

Well Goliath than I guess we should all just feel fortunate that you allow us to play in your sand box since your rarely challenged on the field and at the cash register. Maybe you should make that move to FBS since in your mind you have outgrown the FCS and have nothing else to prove. I'm confident if we begin to remotely have similiar sucess we will conduct our program in a much different manner by honoring contracts and continue to recruit student athletes who stay off the police blotter. Your win at all costs program does bring other complications.

I kind of like that we have drawn the Griz. What coould be sweeter than going out there and knock that bunch of weasals out of the playoffs?

The people who like that we've drawn Montana are nuts. I would take about 4 of the other options before them, the other two BSC or the two from the Southland come to mind.

That being said, they are not invincible, but they're damn good. All facets of the team are going to have to come to play. Win or go home. That should be enough motivation for anyone.

Re: Congratulations Jacks! Welcome to Griz Country!

The Griz are a good team, but at the same time, they play in the Big Sky Conference, and don't play away conference games, then they play the majority of playoff games at there place, they have the ability to do that with there money but at the same point I think its hard to say you are the best team because the mass majority of your quality wins are at home. USD is like 32-3 at home over its last 35 games, when you can win on the road it shows that you are a great team....

I guess what I am saying is Montana CAN do what they want because they have a 27,000 seat stadium that is full every week, but SDSU would of been atleast 10-1 if they'd have the schedule that Montana had so just saying you are better then SIU because you are undefeated I think has some holes in that argument....

So, over that 17 year span Montana has the most FCS championships, right?

I think you might want to check some stats there buddy. D1 encompasses FBS and FCS. I can't find your overall record but I doubt you have 877 wins in D1 play.
