Well, fellas...we're playing for a conference title Saturday and we're probably going to the playoffs. (PLAYoffs?!?!?! / Knock on wood.) How does that sound the day after a win over the Penguins?
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!

Saturday vs the Salukis. Jacks go 1-0.

It's just interesting that SDSU is the team that really seems to throw other programs' fans into suicide watch. I realize that YSU has been underperforming by the program's and the fans' standards. But there's just enough of that "I can't believe we lost to SDSU" undertone to the forum comments this week to remind me of what we heard after we beat up NDSU and UNI this year.

SDSU is now 12-2 since joining the MVFC, so at some point everybody's going to have to start expecting to lose to us, rather than measuring the dire straits of their program based on a loss to the Jackrabbits.
In talking to YSU fans at the game, I don't think they were surprised that we beat them. I think they were surprised that we didn't beat them by more. They seem to have given up on their team. 50 miles away a high school game in the rain between the Canton/McKinley Bulldogs and the Massillion Tigers was expected to have 25,000 fans for a 2:00 pm game.

Canton McKinley vs Massillion is a huge rivalry. Over 100 years old. Those programs are the cream of Ohio High School FB (you think the SF schools recruit, these guys recruit). THE OSU would have trouble drawing against that game.

Sounds like some schools over look the conference rules. You would think the conference office would have something to say about it.

It was the 118th meeting between these 2 schools. They were tailgating all morning in the parking lots at the NFL Hall of Fame next door to the stadium. Massillion had a police escort into the game. That sort of thing is usually for State Champions returning home with the hardware.
