Thought those two names looked familiar. Did he play football also?

I think you are correct in your analysis there, JD. Very good information!

Re: Raasch's Take on Jacks Fans.

The reasons stated above are the exact reason I stand in general admission the whole game. The cowbell being taken away was indeed the downfall of noise at CAS. Two years ago when the Great West and Dakota Marker were on the line you couldn't hear anything in the stadium. Alas, that was the last game the Jackrabbits got to rattle their cowbells.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the article, but one more thing I thought of last weekend while trying to make some noise in the NW corner. When you are wearing gloves it is awful hard to get any noise out of a clap and I wasn't going to just stand there and wail like my 2 week old baby boy.

Looking forward to Sat. Very excited.

Chuck is also a very frequent poster on this board.

Wish Chuck was there yesterday. The farmer told his wife he loves her. Way to go Jacks fans, doesn't it feel good?!

Crowd participation on 3rd down much better this week.

We were in Sec T. Crowd was quiet as usual 1st half. Then came to life in 2nd. Mid 3rd qtr the crowd was screaming during every defensive play. The young lady in front of me was plugging her ears during the defensive plays.

The crowd seemed very tense in the first half, expecting UNI to do something, I think. I think our success in the third quarter this year made the fans more confident after halftime.

I would guess the crowd was quiet in the first half because we were settling for FG's instead of scoring TD's. I know I was pissed when we couldn't punch it in.

That being said I obviously very happy the Jacks won.

Its hard to talk Stig out of FG when you are in the red zone. I had a ear phone radio on WNAX while watching the game. According to Steve Emming, one of the assistants talked Stig into going for it on 4th when we were inches away and that one did not work. I keep telling myself that Stig was a math major and taught math in high school for a few years, so the guy is very logical, precise and relies on averages for drawing conclusions, so maybe thats why we settled for the FG's. Might have been the right thing though as UNI defense seemed very capable at that point in time and were making very good stops. They did wear down though in the final quarter. Take away the FG's and we win by only two or three points. So the calls by the coaching staff overall were the right ones. I give them an A- at least maybe it should be A+

We were playing the second best defense. They were really good at times. Points are points.

This what I thought too. I think we won the time of possesion by about two minutes, but some of our drives left UNI defense on the field for a long time especially the last TD that was a 93 yard drive and that had to rough on those guys at that point in the game. I notice Danny Batten was gasping for air in the final series, as he was after Grace all day long and that took some hard running and deflecting blocks along the way. Great game.
