The two new recruits are in and they are good ones.

Previously discussed WR from Andover, Jason Schneider and PK/P Ethan Sawyer from Brandon Valley.

        Per TerryV's twitter, twitter.com/TerryVandrovec

Ready for the new recruits? SDSU adds Jason Schneider, a 6-5 WR from Andover, Minn., and nationally ranked punter Ethan Sawyer from Brandon.

WR Jason Schneider [6'5, 210] Andover, MN

This kid has Ramses Barden type size and broke every receiving record for Andover MN. Also a very good basketball player averaging 20.8 pts in his first 5 games.
3.91 GPA Looking at majoring in Pharmacy
Played almost every snap of every game at WR and DB
Had interest from NDSU and UND

Punter/Kicker Ethan Sawyer [6'2" 180] Brandon Valley, SD

ESPN rated him a 2 Star recruit with a 72 rating (which is 1 pt ahead of our other kicker Syrovatka, and the top rated kicker in SD)

            ESPN's write-up:
            http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recru...85&season=2010

Sawyer is a great punt/kickoff prospect. He showed great leg strength and had great charts at the National Scholarship Camp. He proved he has Division I tools and he will continue to develop in college, which will help him become more consistent in the years to come.

This kicking/punting camp ranks Sawyer as #18 punter in the nation and a 5 out of 5 star rating.

Ethan is a good athlete who palyed multple postitions in HS. He showed Elite leg strength and should be able to kick off and punt at a high level in college when he is able to focus on those skills. Ethan has a very fast leg.

I also noticed that he played Linebacker in high school and is a decent track athlete running the 400 & 800.

I like Schneider's size, any idea on 40 time? with that size even a 4.55 would make him hard to stop

So far the Jacks have 15 verbals with coach Stig saying they were targeting around 18. I wouldn't be surprised to see 5-7 more sign though as I think a handful of the ones on the list are either preferred walk-ons or partial scholarships.

Would think some Defensive Backs, running backs and maybe a linebacker would be the remaining focus. A running back with blazing speed would be nice to compliment the power type backs we traditionally have on the roster.

Best I could find of Jason Schneider was this video of Andover football highlights: http://www.ihigh.com/school10458/video_884367.html

Schneider (#9) shows up a lot, as he was the team's offensive MVP as well as played in the team's secondary.

On a side note, Ethan's older brother Sam is the place kicker from USD that was severely injured in a skiing accident at Terry Peak over winter break. The last I heard he was back in Sioux Falls and getting better every day. Get well Sam and welcome aboard Ethan.

The best part about Ethan kicking is the tackling afterwards. He has complete disregard for his body. Unbelievable hits...especially from a kicker.

I'll add him to the verbal list, I can always just take his name off if we hear otherwise. Does anybody know if he is expected to play RB or LB?
