Udot person couldn't believe I wasn't excited about the prospect of the two schools playing again. My wife has learned very well how to change the subject.

Only if demographics take a huge reverse and we have an increase in rural farm and non farm populations that match those of the 1920's when Tunerville and Tinkertown probably had amatuer baseball teams and may have played on a bright sunny Sunday afternoon. No team bus, but a lot of model A Fords to transport the visiting team down muddy US 212. But no doubt a rematch would take away from the Golden Pheasant game of the future between Udot and SDSU.

You can talk about all these little towns all you want but do any of them have glowing graves in their cemetary?

I lived in Hetland for about a year. That was 50 years ago. I rode my tricycle all over town. Don't have any idea what is left there now.

There's a grain elevator and trucking business in Hetland. That's about it. Quite a few pheasants, too.

Can't remember what she said to Udot, but the look she gave me was enough to melt metal...

Is it still Stephenson Grain and Trucking. Mashed gears in one of their trucks when I went with a friend who drove for them back in college. And is Arlington still called Peckerville?

Yes only when someone old from Volga mentions it.

A well-worn tricycle path for sure

OK. Time to get serious. Big Springs? Nora? Now them's some stomping grounds.

Big Springs is basically a church and Nora, well it has more letters in its name than people (there might only be one person living there right now, but I'm not a 100% on that).

Ahh, but I remember when Big Springs had a store.

I believe the store building is still there, but it's definitely not open for business.
