Doc, as a native Huronian I beg to differ. The "Plains" pheasant is 2-3 times as big as that "chick" up at Tinkertown.

I know and much more attractive as well. I just wanted to include Tinkertown in a post, I don't think anyone had done that up to this point.

How many people here have ever even been through Tinkertown? Nobody goes to Tinkertown.

Ah Tinkertown. I spent a month there one night.

During pheasant hunting season, I pass "through" Tinkertown several times a day on weekends.

Coach Stig did not want to comment on any future games with USD. He said we have had great schedules and established relationships with DI programs. He didn't rule it out but he never has. Didn't sound like anything was in the works though.

Is Tinkertown west of Turnerville? What ever happened to turnerville, it was on US 77 on the way to Milbank before I 29.

Re: SDSU and USD Battle for the Golden Pheasant

Tunerville is about 25 miles east of Watertown on Hwy 212...at the big curve. Tinkertown is about 12 miles west of Watertown on Hwy 212. [Neither of those towns should be confused with Hooterville which is about 10 miles from Petticoat Junction where an unmarried old guy lived with his three cute nieces who bathed in the water tower. Hmmm...somebody would get arrested these days.] Is this thread drifted or what!!!

                      Somebody re-opened Tunerville. I think.

I thought Tunerville was North of Clear Lake just off of 212.

It is. That's about 25 miles east of Watertown, by the big curve on 212.

USD has little vision. It seems their whole focus on moving to DI is playing SDSU again. Their president, their athletic director, their coaches and their alumni all equate the move to DI with playing SDSU. How sad. Their view of the world reaches out about 120 miles.

I too sense this as a limiting factor down the road a few years from now. The excitement will cool too quickly and that could be problems from a financial point of view.

That would actually be 20 miles from Watertown- I grew up near Tunerville.
