    Unbiased better day question

    Koenig - 20 carries - 251 yds - 4 TD (to this point)
    NDSU's Roehl - 22/263/1

Tough call considering the competition for me anyway. I'd go with Roehl just because of the game situation.

OK, how much time is left? I don't want to watch stat tracker because it's ahead of the video ONLY feed (smirk, smirk)

48-35. Bad squib kick and penalty put SDSU inside the CP40.

2:40 left. It'd be nice to get another TD.

edit: Poly is out of T.O.'s

Greatest play in football - Victory formation kneel-down.

                Nice win Jacks!!

48-35 final. Damn good 3-4 team. Now please, correct that 0-1 conference record on the tracker.

I'll place a very large wager that Stig mentions his "favorite formation" in the post game show . Nice win by the Rabbits over a ranked team!

I watched the game as well and Roehl dominated. No matter how you cut it, Minnesota is a Big Ten team...but they are one of the worst teams in the nation IMHO. Still an accomplishment, but the U of M is putrid in terms of I-A Football. It should be noted that they are WAY better than Poly and it was definitely a big win for NDSU...just not as big as it would have been about 5 years ago when the Gophers were at least middle of the pack in the Big Ten.

While we're doing comparisons, how about App State losing to GSU? I think the hard schedule is looking better and better. It certainly paid off with Cal Poly.

Well followed over at AnyGivenSaturday. Lots of people that vote were following the game.

Poly will drop, probably to about 22 from 15th.

Just got home. I have to say I was pretty unimpressed with Ramses Barden. The guy was obviously frustrated that he didn't get his usual 160+ yards. He was taking plays off, giving up on balls, barely joining his team in the huddle. He may be a physical specimen, but you knock him down a couple of times, and he's no longer much of a factor. I wonder if attitude has been a problem for him in the past. His one TD was a nice play, although he could easily have been called for interference since he ran over Brock Gentile who was standing there waiting to catch the ball.

Cal Poly gained more than 500 yards, but if you take our 460 and add 240 in return yards we moved it plenty. Cal Poly's special teams are not good, and their defense is nothing like it has been in the past. Amazing game by Koenig. The guy just refused to be tackled. And Berry played a controlled game and had a couple of off-target passes but generally did what he had to do. JaRon Harris had a tough start, but made a nice catch on the TD pass.

Lots of exciting football. Too bad nobody was there to see it. The biggest disappointment: The crowd. Perfect night for football, and SDSU fans stayed home. That's just sad. The season isn't over just because Hobo Day has come and gone. We need to change that culture.

Yeah, I hate that no one shows up for games after Hobo Day.

SDSU, I think really lacks people who eat, breathe, and bleed Yellow and Blue, hopefully that trend changes in the next few years.

edit: BTW, that might have been the most action packed game I've ever been to.

                              Period.

Agreed! If the Jacks make the play-offs, then those games are in November/December. We have a top 30 SIZED stadium, we need to be ready to HOST LARGE CROWDS to justify hosting, and low attendence history like this doesn't make it.

Playing in SD in Dec. will put us lights out ahead of the southern schools to get to the championship. Granted, not this year. But Dr. Oien needs to start seeing the #'s in the late NOV. games, so if we're successful in the Gateway we can host play-offs.
