The bit with the UCD transfer being followed recently by the WSU coaching staff has me very curious. Maybe Jackson offered the name up to Rogers' staff. Why did I. Jackson just follow the player now if he had been on the UCD roster all year? Other than Stevens, I'm not sure what WSU kicker/punter situation looks like.

The McShane follow has me interest piqued and so does Large. Either he's following Large because he's involved, or he's following Large because Large will go elsewhere like Wilde and he wants to keep tabs. McShane he followed a day after McShane announced he was coming back (He entered portal Dec 9)

    • Cooper and Daniel Mojica, SDSU's Assistant Director of Operations are now following one another which might indicate Mojica is staying in town. Looks like Mojica has been retweeting some player re-ups along the way.

Jonathan Shaeffer had been with the program for a long time. I imagine his presence and contributions will be missed. He also seemed to be the one doing the most amount of following of all the suspected WSU coaches/staff early on. Maybe he'll be Director of Recruiting.

      • more coaching staff movement

latest 2 follows on Isaiah T Jackson -> Jeff Bowie (transfer from Iowa who Jacks just offered - also following I. Jackson back) and Myles Green Chicago CB who just reannounced commitment to SDSU

Dalton Thomas just followed some portal players mentioned in transfer thread - Jay'Veon Sunday (twitter) that Cooper and Benedetto are following. Dalton is also following the NIU portal CB 4 years eligibility that Jackson also recently followed. Dalton also retweeted Myles Green's re-up.

Brayden Gage also recently followed Jeff Bowie

        • Maybe we could bring Ryan Grubb back.

          • On John Gaskins podcast Matt Zimmer said that Dan Jackson had interest in adding Christian Smith to the staff, but he finds it unlikely. Also brought up Bergstrom's name.

Just got to that point, but Zim also mentioned that Olson was offered OL gig at WSU, but he was offered P5 job he didn't want Zim to reveal. Apparently Benedetto made similar request, so that's why Zim didn't officially name him TE coach yet.

He also mentioned Flyger, Augie alum and UND coach as a candidate, with an unspecified Vandy assistant likely joining staff

I understood that he said Flyger was interested but didn't know if the interest was mutual.

I should've stated that differently. You are correct re. Flyger. The Vandy assistant seemed more likely.

                  I revised my post

JI has updated their page to indicate Mojica is remaining Asst. Dir. of Football Ops.

                      • JI listed Brian Bergstrom and Isiah Jackson as Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator respectively.

                        • Media members (Gaskins, Herder, Eisen) tweeting bit about Eids so I imagine that'll be public soon?

JI now has Isaiah Jackson listed as the Special Teams coach. One of the latest follows in on the WI guy we just offered yesterday.

Glad to see I. Jackson back too. A bit surprised

Anyone else getting "server too busy" messages on forum?

I assume overloading server with people trying to stay updated. Bet we have a few WSU/NU people checking in on us.

I think I'm surprised with him keeping the same position while at UCD (granted he only had it for a year). Isn't Special Teams Coordinator our newest coaching position? Where does it rank in the coaching hierarchy? Jackson has at least one young son according to his UCD page. He was at $100k in '23 before his most recent promotion, so I assume he's at least around $108k+ now. If we were around $115k for our OC and DC, I can't imagine he'll be getting more than $90k here.

He also coached LBs at Davis, and I suspect he could help with recruitment in that region.

I should say that I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think Jacks would have shot for position other than DC
