It's a bit all right - there's 4 or 5 of them that get on and circle jerk each other when one makes a post. Likely all one person.

Probably worth considering the opponents when comparing offense's production before concluding that Beschorner was the primary reason for the turnaround.

Along the same line, compare stats from 2023 to 2024. Negligible difference in overall offense. I find it interesting too that Eidness and Beschorner were paid the same this season, so no jump in salary for Wes this year to be OC. Eidness did take that pay cut though.

While many may not agree with Eidness's play calling his last few years here, he has a ton of knowledge and has had productive QB's over his career.
I updated my signature for the first time in six years.

I could be in minority, but I think there's value in having him return here because he's familiar with college, conference, and community. Plus, he and Jackson have worked together.

I also have trouble believing Eidsness wouldn't have had a decent shot at exceeding last year's production with Jacks, if he had same roster (which he obviously won't now); he also has experience navigating the transfer portal

he also was the OC for Ranek, Zenner, Minnet, Weineke, Davis, Kade Johnson, and Goedert, just to name a few. i would have to look but i think there is a good chance that our top 5 passers, rushers, receivers minus Gronowski, Isaiah, and the Jankes all played under Coach Eidsness

there is no argument at all against him being a good and productive offensive coach. Riggs would be my top choice, but Eids is a great choice and a very very close second for me!! and i absolutely believe that our offense would have been better in 2024 with Eids at OC as opposed to what we had. if i have the choice between Eids and Fruend, I am picking Eids every single time with zero hesitation

I said it before, i would NOT want trying to find a coach who will NOT leave to be the top priority. but it is also absolutely clear that stability and continuity have very significant value. i honestly believe there is a good chance this ends up being a net gain. Jackson, and Eidsness, if he is part of the new staff, have both been out in the world a bit. as opposed to Jimmy basically never being anywhere but brookings. Jackson has experience that more money does not necessarily make everything perfect and that the grass is not always greener

doubtful we ever get another 20+ year coach, but I also think it is possible that Jackson is not going to be in any rush to go and it will take something that is clearly a BIG improvement. other than a pay increase it seems questionable that WSU is really an improvement

i completely disagree with the approach Jimmy has taken to our roster and it is undoubtedly a two faced approach considering what he said to the same players when he was here (want to believe that plenty of them would see that and question what they should and should not believe now), but i have moved to the point of wishing him all the best!! that said, it seems very clear that he was going to continue to get plenty of offers and it seems like he could have done a LOT better than WSU and Pullman washington

The D coordinator position is the one that still intrigues me. Lots of speculation/hope for Christian Smith, but haven't heard much about possibilities beyond him..

I looked into Isaiah Jackson yesterday. I don't see anything on Twitter though to indicate he's coming. The follows I can see are SDSU *committed but hasn't re-confirmed* portal QB from STM, Gus Miller, Matt Zimmer, the decommitted 3* Isaiah Hung, and a JI/JFPA member.

His 4 most recent Salaries 2023: $99,350 '22: $78.85k '21 & '20: $75.6k. My understanding of California is that everything is very expensive, so Brookings has that going for it. He would almost need the DC job as you mentioned for it to be worthwhile. He just took on a new role this past year as the Special Teams Coordinator which presumably came with a pay hike. Strictly from a salary perspective, $115k-ish is what our DC/OC made last year. Any SDSU non DC role might be a step down unless you take it hoping it takes you to the next level in 2 years.

When UCD is Mountain West in like June '26, will they see any CFP $? Would you expect the UCD coaches to get a raise to be more aligned with the Mountain West? That might impact a decision.

Rich Wright is following Kobe Clayborne, Dan Jackson, and more recently Dalton Thomas. Football Scoop said Central Missouri is hiring him. Just a random follow on twitter, which I'm sure there a lot of.

I'll review what Stig said but I'm pretty sure it was along the lines of not taking your friends with you everywhere and needing strangers in your coaching staff. It's possible some of Jackson's recent coach followers are people hoping for a job / applying, like the TE coach at Albany.

CA also has income tax, but it's closer to where he's originally from (AZ).

No! Don’t bring back Eidsness or it will be swing pass right and swing pass left. Look at NIU and what happen.

Let's not age the gent too much. While he wasn't here for Ranek or Minett, he was a part of the offenses that had Sumner, Christion, Wieneke, Cade Johnson, and Goedert.

One aspect of this I haven't seen discussed much is how OCs like Eck and Lujan benefitted from prolific Jacks defenses, which Eidsness did not necessarily have the luxury of, as is illustrated if you look at the team stats available here.

I agree with LGR, that Riggs is flashier (and potentially more apt to pique player and recruit interest), but I don't think Eidsness is anything to shake a stick (or baby carrot) at.
