On another topic. Anyone have any predictions for attendance this weekend?
Hoping we can get over 10k. Also does anyone know when the last day of class is for students in December?

Per SDSU website, finals "week" begins tomorrow, and go through this coming Wednesday, Dec 14. Not sure if they had classes the first 1-3 day(s) this week or not. Student section was not very full against Delaware, but those in attendance were good and active. I recall being kicked out of the dorms fairly quickly in the early 2010s after finals... any chance they'd let kids stay through Saturday night without too much trouble if we take down HC? Clearly there will be a contingent of international students staying in their dorms still... so it has to be possible.

That being said --- Holy Cross is a proud bunch, with very proud fans. I don't think they will roll over easily... our fan base should not be taking this game for granted.

I would be surprised and (somewhat) happy if 8k were in attendance. Obviously getting 15k+ each game would be phenomenal. I too, have heard of people willing to be in Frisco, but not willing to sit in 25 degree weather for 3 hours. Bundle up... this weather isn't anything new. If you can't handle that... perhaps you should just move in a southern direction now. I'd imagine potential semi's should at least see 10k, bolstered somewhat by likely Montana State fans being bussed in.

It appears Malik Lofton has been arrested for 2nd degree petty theft per Matt Zimmers tweet. 2nd Degree petty theft is defined as less than $400 in total value. Innocent until proven guilty, but damn, how could that possibly be worth it and how can you screw up now when everything is in front of you and your teammates. More to come I’m sure, but very disappointing.

I'm sure our friends up north will be eating this up.... What a stupid thing to do, or even be in the situation of being accused of...

I don’t anticipate much/any of a drop off if he does not play as I think #7 and #26 are simply better options.

I think from a depth standpoint, we’re fine. I’m more worried about the distraction part of it, but hopefully the team is more locked in than ever.

Working on determining "JackrabbitRealist's" true colors -- he's posted on this forum two times (convenient--you can read both posts in this thread! ) He hasn't written anything inaccurate so far but his motivation is questionable. We'll keep an eye on him. In the meantime, don't feed the troll.

Lofton should be suspended 1 game for conduct detrimental to the team. I don't think it should be more than that.

The school/admin, Stig, and the team are going to try to handle this as privately as possible. They are not in the habit of publicly disclosing punishments for players/staff acting improperly, and certainly kept the lid tight during Stig's incident as well. JR-Realist having his first two posts be on this matter is interesting... not sure what it exactly says...

These kids are all just regular people. People make mistakes. Unfortunately this one is very poor timing. I know Malik has been very active in the community and is one of the last people you'd expect something like this from. I'm not one to rush to punishment declarations without knowing the whole story - plus... it's obviously not my job anyways. But I tend to agree that if Stig never did sit time out, this probably shouldn't warrant punishment either - especially prior to official legal proceedings. Would be very interested to know what on earth happened... but not sure that will definitively come out anytime soon. Obviously I do not personally deserve an explanation... but when you are a public figure, which a starting player for the #1 team in the FCS would qualify you for, you give up a certain amount of privacy and anonymity.

I'm going to trust the team and staff in potential discipline here. Hopefully it can be settled quickly and put behind the team, without causing continued distraction. I know Malik is a good person, and will continue to be in the future... hopefully learning from this alleged mistake.
