  • Holy Cross

Somebody had to get the thread started. Holy Cross impressed in the 2021 playoffs more than Delaware. Will have to play a good game with no special teams gaffes to beat them.

They haven't seen a defense like the Jacks or seen tight ends at the level of Kraft and Heins. Lujan HAS to get them involved more this week.

A few Holy Cross fans think the Jacks are the exact same team as in '21 and they are much improved. No doubt HC has improved, but so have the Jacks. The defense is much stouter against the run and much deeper. Our skill players are better overall as well.

Will be interesting to see what their game plan on offense will entail.

      Will Bock get some reps?

Thanks for the continued awesome content, WSR! Loving the podcasts too.

Weather looks to be downright beautiful, truly can't ask for much better in December. Would love to see some more people on the East side instead of filling the West. Going to be a LOT of eyes watching the TV broadcast on ESPN's mothership channel. It's the only college football game going on, right before Army-Navy on CBS.

Agreed. I almost wish our tv cameras were facing the other direction to showcase the home side at games. Hoping the weather significantly helps the turnout.

On paper, Holy Cross looks awfully good, they put up some big offensive numbers! But, that's playing against primarily Patriot/Ivy League teams that are fielding.... well... sub-par teams. According to Massey Ratings, they have the 76th SOS in the FCS, while we have the 4th hardest. They have played 6 teams rated worse than Western Illinois in Sagarin ratings, playing a couple of them fairly close.

Weather looks to be about the best anyone could reasonably expect for December in South Dakota. Would love to see Kraft/Heins be far busier on Saturday. While HC isn't going to go down easy, and of course any team could win at any time without it being a massive shocker at this point in the playoffs... I do think the Jacks have the size and talent to handle this game. Their FBS win at Buffalo is by far their best win, but even that team doesn't have the defense they will see against the Jacks.

I'll be there, East-side, cowbell in hand!

We should be favored, but HC is no joke. They'll be tougher than Delaware, for sure.

But I trust in this team.

I really like this matchup for us. I don't think they can grind out enough points on the ground to win. I think the bigger question is can we keep them under 100 yards rushing. One offense one observation I have had is it seems that our running game is better against 4 man fronts than 3. I think that our oline is better at pushing big guys around that trying to catch little LB and Hybrids. Thats why we have alot of 3-4 yard runs. Last time we play HC Davis averaged over 10 yards a carry, not sure if we will have that kind of dominance again but I do think we roll.

SDSU will be at minimum a 16 1/2 point favorite (maybe more) this weekend. Weather looks great. It should be a great day to outside and enjoy some championship football in December.

                      Go Rabbits!

The weather on Saturday continues to look about as good as you could reasonably expect from December.

This is the year; now is the time.

I could not attend the Delaware game, but I look forward to seeing the Jacks play Holy Cross. I think I'll bring a cowbell, too. It's time to make noise and show this team the support it deserves!

Excuses of not attending are getting old.

Get to the game, bring two friends and be loud. Ridicule your friends for watching at the bar and offer to bring them with. I’ve heard of several people that are waiting to go if we make it to TX, don’t be those people. There will be no TX if we don’t make the Dana a problem for opposing offenses.

On another topic. Anyone have any predictions for attendance this weekend?
Hoping we can get over 10k. Also does anyone know when the last day of class is for students in December?
