Jalyn Thomas TE Iowa (twitter) maybe 3 years eligibility. espn and Iowa dont show much.
Saw on the JI blog that Thompson originally committed to NIU before deciding to walk on at Iowa. So Eidsness should have some idea of what he has to offer.

Dan Jackson exchanged follows with a Minnesota transfer DB from Maple Grove, MN (sound familiar?)
Jackson Powers 3 years eligibility looks like he had offers from Butler, Uconn, Elon, Morgan State, and St. Thomas. Eids has an older follow on this guy
      Former Minnesota DB Powers committed.

      • and another Iowa Western commit. I floated the idea of the Jacks maybe picking up one of their coaches based on the intern follow.

And again, JUCO years now don't count against eligibility due to the recent court rulings.

There’s a big “it depends” with that ruling. The NCAA is still going to appeal, however they did grant limited additional eligibility

The week after Pavia’s injunction was granted, according to news reports, the NCAA Division I Board of Directors approved an extra year of eligibility only in 2025-26 for student-athletes who previously competed at a non-NCAA school for one or more years (which includes junior colleges) and would have exhausted their eligibility after the 2024-25 season.
I updated my signature for the first time in six years.

When was the last time the NCAA won a lawsuit ? And if that extra eligibility gets approved in this case, you can bet that some current JUCO players will file a lawsuit demanding equal treatment.

Or there'd at least be injunction as it winds through courts

Yikes. Unless we are 2am at the Safari desperate we don't want NIU guys that are 106 and lower on the depth chart.

I saw a picture of him visiting Georgia. I guess Kentucky had a bigger bag.

After this past season with Indiana things skyrocketed. They increased the salaries of all the assistants to one of the highest in CFB. That huge extension for Cig, etc. Basketball schools with big pocket donors who have only been throwing $$ at basketball because the football program hasn't been all that great. I know Kentucky was ranked in the past 3 years. This guy was 1 vote away from being a unanimous All American just to end up on a team that won 1 or 2 conference games. The same case with Wilde and co, unfortunately. Things obviously change year to year. Northwestern looked pretty good last year.

                            • Classes start tomorrow and the *regular* add/drop date is next Wednesday. Assuming they'd prefer the athletes in class for Day 1, I assume we won't see a bunch more portal commits.

The same can be said for coaches like Isaiah Davis if there's anything to his SDSU player follows listed in the other thread. He's been going after punters and kickers including a sac state kicker who hits 70% of his fgs, 10% more than Dustman. Not sure he has had to experience Brookings conditions though,

If there are more people on staff that haven't revealed themselves on twitter, just know that they're actively recruiting, too.
Just saw a tweet from Cam congratulating Nate White on committing and Nate's response was "See you soon." Hopefully a sign of things to come
