    Re: 2005 Recruits

Routh was hobbled by injuries during the middle of the season. Not sure if he got back to 100% by the end of the season, but speed like his is one thing the Jacks must keep in mind.

Should be some great games, even though there are way too many for my tastes, for the championships. I will be at the 9AA game cheering hard for the Arlington Cardinals in what should be a tough game against Gettysburg.

OG-Roosevelt is going to be a battle, and I think Roosevelt brings home the title. OG beat them, but that was a long time ago, and I don't know if there has been a better defense in 11AA than what Roosevelt has right now. If I remember correctly, Roosevelt had a couple of turnovers that were very costly in the first game.

In response to a previous post about recruiting the big d-linemen from Roosevelt. One of them has a bit of a history, which I know all people make mistakes in life, but this one, I cannot forgive. Please feel free to visit the sioux falls sex offender list for further details. The quick and dirty of it involves a 3 year old and a daycare.

            Recruiting Story:

When I was being recruited by State, Coach Daly & Stig made a personal visit to my house. My youngest brother was 2 at the time and Stig took him into his room and read books, put together puzzles, and played toys for almost 2 hours as Daly, my parents, and I talked. Impressive, not only to my parents, but as well to me. That was a bigger "selling" point than any facilities, although Coughlin is the place where football is meant to be played.

I can't believe that you snowed Stig and Daly into believing that a guy who intentionally threw at Miller baseball players and then had the audacity to pick them off while he was getting a lead from first base was a player they wanted to represent the Jacks. You Huron players were always a little suspect.

              By the way, hey Struck.

                Re: 2005 Recruits

The only thing I remember about Stig and Daly visiting my house was Stig telling me to wear a sweatshirt so I didn't look so skinny.

In all seriousness, Stig puts character very high on his list of criteria for potential athletes. He made that very clear to me when I was being recruited. I think one only has to look at the quality of kids we've had in the system to see that he still puts character high on the list.

                I still don't know how he didn't see past Struck's b.s., though.

Jordan Paula (6'2" 215lbs RB, 4.5 40 yd dash) from Brookings seems to heading to the green pastures of D1 and Coughlin Alumni Stadium ;D. At least that's the work from staff at Brookings H.S 8).

Excellent news, good PR. Any idea where they might try and fit him in? From what I understand he is late coming into football but an excellent athlete. Soccer is apparently his first passion. We aren't in need of a placekicker so I assume there thinking D-back/safety. Can he get big enough and stay fast enough to play LB or even be considered for TB. Probably a little early to speculate.

                        Jordan Paula - Brookings

Perhaps the state's most dangerous return man, Paula was the Bobcats' main weapon.

The 212-pounder averaged 7.2 yards a carry, rushing for 1,280 yards and 14 touchdowns. As a kick returner, he averaged 32.4 yards on 15 returns and scored twice. As a free safety, he had 14 solo tackles, 23 assists and a 60-yard interception return for a TD.

"His strong 6-3 frame and bursting speed made him capable of breaking the big play from anywhere on the field,'' said Coach Gary Maffett.

This would be a good pick up. 8)

I watched two BHS games this fall and Paula has very good speed and with good blocks, its a six point movement on the board. It would be a shame to see Paula go somewhere else. This is good news.

Yes, you are wrong. You need to get out of the region and go see some other I-AA stadiums before you make such a strong statement. Could Coughlin-Alumni use some improvments? Yes. Is the Stadium all that I hope for at SDSU? No. Are our football facilities a disgrace? No. I know you have the best interests of the program at heart and I really don't want to start the whole "Coughlin needs improvement" thing again, (especially, on a Recruit thread) but you asked. Just my opinion.
