Well, not exactly. There is a difference between "contesting a (full) SLC schedule" and being a full member of the conference. Or at least that is what the Southland Conference thinks.

You ain't arguing with me, you're arguing with the Southland Conference's weekly release, which is what I linked above (and which incidentally doesn't include the SDSU-UCA game in their game preview section). I'd take it up with your new conference if you think that's an issue.
