    Stigs Comments:

    NDSU good football team.
Dissapointed in poor defense and special teams in second half.
Big plays - not many first downs with that many total yards.
Had to settle in early. New formation we weren't used to, had to make adjustments on the sideline.
THis is a one play football game. Tackle on the punt and the game is much different. Our guys responded every time to what they did.
Credit Micah with coming back from the drop in the first series and comes back with TD.
Got us on the same play 3 times (reverse). Guys didn't execute and the second half was a track meet.
Too many points in the third quarter. Just didn't play very well in the third quarter. Maybe panicked a bit.
In the 4th quarter everyone in the stands knows we were going to throw. Puts pressure on the offense.
Great punt by Neal, just didn't cover the punt very well. Guys who were in position to make the play didn't.
Go home with bad taste/hurt. Our guys don't want to come up here again and have that feeling.
Andy has had a special year leading and making plays, Seniors will be missed.
Game plan was to get Wagner the ball.
Montana is a better football team. Not sour grapes, NDSU is very good just Montana is better. Thinks we are darn good football team too.
Turnaround was due to the heart of the program. Guys believing in system, each other, and coaches.
Made some improvements this year. Not where we wanted to be. Played 8 teams in the top 25. Tough schedule.
Montana pulled out, that is disapointing but that is the way they run their program and we are a different program from them.
Guys will go into off season with a chip on their shoulder. Got some great young guys to fill in. Whole freshman class came up and was on the sidelines.

Agreed. Also all alums/donors/fans are part of the team. We are SDSU.

The cupboard is not bare! There are some good young guys waiting to take over for the seniors and move the Jacks forward.

I guess you were right. We couldn't stop Kordoes, but I am fine with that!

              GREAT GAME!!!

WAY, WAY, WAY too many big plays given up to win a game like this. Our undiciplined nature caught up with us tonight. It's there from game to game and, honestly, season to season. Generally, though, we get away with our shortcomings. Not against a team like the Bison, though. We need to eliminate that stuff if we're going to see the Dakota Marker anytime soon. It was a good season that could have a bit better ... or so much worse. Credit needs to be spread around, to be sure. But we can't ignore the fact that we won some games that we could have easily lost. And tonight ... the end arounds, the punt ... ick ... those were really unacceptable. (And, yes, that is the right word.)Also, Andy missed some passes that were needed. OK, OK, I'm still coming down from being wound up. I was worried we might get whooped and we were so much more productive than, oh, let's say Minnesota. Well done, Jacks.

First of all I want to say congratulations to you guys. The first thing I wanted to do was come on here and say that and leave it at that. I did take time to read through the game thread over here and was somewhat suprised (guess I shouldn't be given its SDSU's fan board) but I need to say this to a few Bunny fans. You need to learn to both win and lose with some class. I was at the game and talked to a few of your fans on the way out and congratulated them and they were great. But reading a few posts over here and seeing things like Montana was better, talking about student announcers who don't get paid anything and put in time for folks who may not have another option to listen or complaining about chippy plays (unless you were at the game or saw it on tv don't think listening on the radio gives you much of a view) both teams outside of a couple plays on both sides played a clean game. You have some playmakers on your team. This was the worst defensive game I've seen the Bison play all year and that is backed up by the stats. Yes your players had something to do with that but even with our worst defensive game of the year we still won and I think that says alot about the quality of this Bison team. As far as the comment about Bison fans being arrogant or cocky every school has those fans who are like that but are not representative of most Bison fans. One thing that was Cocky was your wide out stomping and rubbing his feet on the Bison emblem in the endzone. You lucky he didn't get flagged for that and I thought it was a pretty classless move on his part. Most of the Jacks players were not like that. I was actually very impressed overall with them after the game as several stayed out on the field for the GWFC Championship presentation. This rivalry is heating up very nicely and next year your guys can again take their best shot at us on your home turf. Congratulations again on a good year, looking forward already to next year.

Whats wrong with Stig saying Montana was a better team? They beat us far worse than the bison did. Or just because NDSU won tonight, they must be the best team we've ever played? Sorry if it hurts your ego, but that was SDSU's coaches opinion, and he probably knows pretty much what he's talking about since he coached against both teams. I don't see how it is "classless" to compare two of our toughest opponents this year, and say one was better than the other. I don't think that it is sour grapes to say that NDSU might not be the best team in the division this year.

I agree bbfan. The remarks were made by our head coach after the game. He was asked and he commented that he thought Montana was a better team. This is the same head coach that has a long time relationship with your head coach from the days when they were both on the staff at Wisconsin together.

Just got home from the game and a quick read of this thread. Early in the posts, someone commented that the Bison were starting to get a little "chippy" and there were some other comments like that. The conclusions one can reach from just listening to the radio or reading stats are interesting but not always supportable. I thought it was a clean game. Both teams squared off from the start and played hard. I thought the Bison were quite cocky last year...not so this year. There were all business and so were the 'Rabbits. I thought the refs were not perfect but that didn't adversly affect the 'Rabbits (an argument could be made the 'Rabbits maybe got two calls they may not have deserved...one was roughing the punter--after seeing the play and watching the replay, I thought is was a supportable call but many refs would have left that one alone).

It was a game of a few big, devastating plays by both sides with the Bison having a couple more than the Rabbits. The Bison punt return for a TD really hurt. The momentum shift could be physically felt up in the stands.

The Jacks made me real proud. I saw them play five games this season including the opener against UWL. This team was a great inspiration. I only wish the game could have been played at Brookings. We want to be competing for a championship each season and we were there doing that tonight.

The Bison are an excellent football team. So are the Jacks.

I saw that posted by someone on here and was not aware they were Stig's comments. He's entitled to his opinions just as we all are. My other comments still stand. Players stomping on a emblem on the field are classless. Either way this was a good game, no team and I don't care who it is can come out week afte week and play 100% flawlessly. We have the entire off season to debate but the bottom line is we won and weve had our share of flattering remarks from other coaches as well includeing Poly's who stated we were by far the best team they faced including Montana. Maybe Stig's a little pissed about getting the L I don't know but he had his chance. Hopefully next year we can be playing for the same prize, the GWFC title and the Marker. Poly and Davis will likely have something to say about that but until next year all we can do now is be spectators for the IAA playoffs >

FYI -- The Jackrabbit announcers on WNAX both stated their opinion that the Bison were easily the best team that State faced this year.

That said -- a big congratulations to the Jacks on a great season. They've come a LONG WAY from the season opener loss.

I also was at the game tonight and dont think you can take anything away from either team.  Great game, to bad SDSU has had to play in Fargo 4 of the last 6 years.

As far as some of the Jacks staying on the field for the presentation you are wrong.  It was our seniors who waited to shake hands after the rest of the team watched your entire team for the second year forget about that tradition and left the field.  I understand the excitement but again very tacky. Just as tacky as a receiver rubbing his foot into the Bison.

One last thing...by rule, if a kicker does not have a safe follow through (landing) after kicking, a personal foul is called.  The right call was made.

Overall...great game, great atmosphere.  Congratulations to both teams for a fantastic show.
