All stubs had to be turned in by a date certain, and if the member had not sold all their tickets, they had to fill them out with someone else's name. I'm guessing most had a parent/grandparent's name on them. Pretty smart way for the Pride to raise money, the student's share of the cost of the trip is now covered and cash has been in hand for some time.
Good to hear. I look forward to watching with pride as the Pride marches down Colorado Boulevard on Jan. 1.

Now, I'm going to stop worrying about things that are completely outside of my control, like whether the Pride will play in November. I'm going to focus my attention on the football team and their game in Conway, Arkansas.
    Holy nutmeg!

I really am looking forward to that game in Conway. Not sure why, but I have this feeling it is going to be great.

Talked to Josh Davis today. The team feels really good about the UCA game. Not taking anything for granted, of course (not Stig's style) but feeling confident. Should be fun.

That is too bad that they will not play at all. At least a pep band or something. Kinda enbarassing when your oppenent (NDSU) will have there band and more fans at the game. Hope next year the pride has fun playing at the soccer matches and the cross country meets. We don't need them...... Off my rant now......

I like where your head is at. They don't want to play for the most importmant and biggest game of the year, fine, then you're not playing Hobo Days either. You can march in the parade and then go home. Just my thoughts.

Hell, let's separate them from athletic events all together. If they think they're so special, let's see how they do when they don't get support from any SDSU athletic fans.

What a joke. I've lost a ton of respect for the band. I can understand them not wanting to perform on the field in November, but at least be in the stands. I can tell you one thing, the Pride won't be seeing any more donations from this alum.

Ditto. Speak with your wallet and I suspect they will start listening.

Hey! Let's leave the cross country team out of this dispute!

And, while I do not have a direct connection with the soccer team, let's leave them out of the dispute too!

The fact that The Pride won't be playing at these last games in dissapointing. Mostly because front and center in my recollections of SDSU football games since I was a youngster is the band. Obviously, the football game is the product, but the band really adds alot to the games. Especially a quality group like The Pride has always been.

I'm not going to cast stones in their direction simply because I'm sure there are many things that make it difficult to conduct such a performance with the uncertainties that mid-November weather can bring to the table. But I wish they would reconsider, if not this year in the future. Perhaps they could consider a simpler performance, or even as was suggested earlier in this topic, at least be in the stands.

Embarrassing. Just embarrassing. Your band has just made the most selfish, arrogant and ignorant decision I've ever heard a Division I college band make. Six times a year will those 300 kids get to play before 10,000-plus people, and they decide they can't do it for the people who are paying their way to go to the Rose Bowl parade -- the students of SDSU and the school's fans and alumni.

Like I said, my high school band of 350-400 played the Rose Bowl parade last year yet found a way to play at the school's last game in early November in 25 degree weather. Any reason "the pride" gives for not playing is simply an excuse.

Geez, in looking through the threads, No cowbells, no band, what's next? I can't believe the band can't bundle and sit in the stands and play during the game. I've seen them march, they don't need to do the halftime. Heck, let NDSU do the halftime, they would probably be willing. Just put the band in the stands with their instruments and play during the game. How bad is it going to look if NDSU show up all dressed and we don't even have a pep band? Can't remember the coaches name that went balistic last year, but his quote was, "THIS IS DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL!!!" Let's make it look that way at CAS. Where would the Pride be without SDSU football? I think it is payback time.

Well....all I'm going to say is I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in McKinney's decision.

I could care less if they play during halftime, they just needed to be in the stands.

I'm sure the players will be real enthused as well, while they warm up during pregame...without the band streaming in and playing, I know many have said that's pumped them up big time.

I said more than I was going to say.

edit: someone should jump on bisonville and see if they are in fact bringing their band.
