SDSU brought its football recruiting class to 21 with the addition of corner back Lance White from Freedom High School in Oakley, Calif.
The 5-10, 175-pound White got on the radar by submitting a highlight tape roughly one week before the start of the signing period. According to Jacks assitant Jay Bubak, the all-conference pick from the Bay Area - who runs the 100 meters in under 11 seconds -had contact with the likes of Sac State, Louisville and Nevada, but nothing came to fruition.

I just heard from a friend from Winner that 2008 TE recruit Seth Daughters blew out his knee during the bball season. Tore all 3 ligaments. Maybe this was already mentioned...

That was mentioned, but it was quite a while ago.

We were aware, tough break or should I say tear. Best of luck to Seth.

I thought I remembered hearing something about it a while back. Apparently, my memory is deteriorating quicker than my knees are...

Seth only tore his ACL. Seth is an amazing kid who has earned the respect of both young and old in the Winner area. Apparently one of the trainers at the Ortho Institute told Seth "this is just a little bump in the road". He took this statement and ran with it. He is in the Wt room daily and his mom said that the trainers are impressed during each visit and say Seth is ahead of schedule and will be ready for fall practice. You wouldn't know by looking at him, watching him walk that anything happened. This is just Seth and SDSU will see the dedication from him very soon. He doesn't get down, he finds the positive in every situation and builds on it. He is so excited to be a Jack! Everyone in Winner is going to be sporting SDSU blue and yellow!!!

Thanks for the clarification/update. Looking forward to having Seth on the Jackrabbit squad. An ACL injury is a common one, as we all know. With repair and more importantly, aggressive rehab to strengthen leg muscles Seth will be as solid as ever.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been a fan for a long time but just as an avid reader. One more note on supporting SDSU and the great choice Seth made. His mom told me (Linda if you read this please correct me if I am wrong--hope you don't mind me sharing) that after the injury one of the hardest calls he made was to Coach's Meadows & Stig---scared only of letting them down. BUT true to form they were very supportive and said it changed nothing. Seth simply told his parents he knew SDSU was the place for him!

Stig spoke about this phone call when he was down in Yankton earlier this year. He made it very clear that his program (our program) would stand by their commitment to Seth. Later he spoke about Matt Holt and his decision to change his commitment at the last moment. I'm glad we have Seth on our team.

Check out the first name in this article that comes up. It's about the third paragraph. Interesting to see he's playing.

I guess we see why Stig was so upset Matt changed his mind. On a side note. Stig told me once that high profile running back (thought it was MB III but can't remember) was set to come to State but got a late call in the morning of signing day from U of M because their #1 guy backed out. So this isn't the first time he's been through this.

Great example of why it does no good to lambast a kid for making a decision like that and thinking he would have been better off going to a lower level school because he would have no shot in the bigs. Congrats to Matt on his early success. I hope he has a great career for Bo Pelini and the Huskers.
