Possible upset in the making, USD leads CP 14-0...still real early though.

Still upset territory with USD up 21-14 at the end of the 3rd. Weather looks like it is being a big equalizer, which is surprising given Poly's ground game.

Can't lie, I was pulling for Poly, but damn I love watching upsets (that aren't us).

One thing that was so impressive about Cal Poly when we played was how their offensive line was firing off the ball precisely when the ball was snapped. The monsoon conditions really negated that aspect of the game for the Mustangs.

So after today this is the new reality:

San Diego > Cal Poly > SDSU > NDSU....

Wow, that loss at home to Cal Poly is just embarrassing. Especially the way their O-line just dominated us that day. We need to bring a new intensity level to the playoffs, Villanova is a solid team. Not flashy, but gets it done on O with a very good defense. We will have success if we can convert TDs in the redzone.

Well this upset does hurt us quite a bit IMHO. Now if we win against Nova, after a tough game, we get to face a well rested NDSU team that basically got a bye week and a scrimmage. Lovely.

If Riley, Hodges, and Dwelley play like they did against Cal Poly, that'll be a tough scrimmage. The flip side of your argument is that USD's offensive schemes and the Bison adjustments to them could provide more relevant film for the Jacks' coaches than a game in Fargo against a triple option team.

They do have a good record 11-1. Interesting, Drake finished third behind Dayton in the Pioneer League standings.
