    Re: GDT: Missouri State Bears

    Rant's and Raves.

Rave: Weather! Need I say more?

Rave: Ticket Promotion, Not sure how well it worked though.

Rant: Paying $32 for a 10yr old child to get into the game. I'm beside myself about this. (thought there were child tickets or I would have done the promotion)

    Rave: Went 1-0 this week

Rant: Can't play that flat in the first half anymore.

Observation: IMO TC Seems to really be struggling with placing the ball right where it needs to be consistently and is floating a bunch of balls recently. Glad I'm not a coach as I'd have punt in the Gunslinger the last couple of games,

Rave: The way we came out of the locker room at half.

Rant/Rave: There were some cheaper($17) available, but it must have not been out there loud enough for those on the fence about a game for the MVFC top standing on a 70 degree day.

Christion needs to get his accuracy back. We're fortunate that a receiver hasn't been hurt extending for all the high and behind throws in the last two games.

Christion is averaging 31yds rushing/game in 9 games. If you remove two outliers (-30 yds against TCU and 141 yds against NDSU) he is averaging 24yds rushing/game in 7 games. So yesterday Taryn was right/close to his average.

He has 4/9 games where he has under 25 yds rushing (another game he had 26 yds).

So, no I am not going to give Missouri St's defense any credit for anything they did yesterday.

Anybody think the TC's ankle/ankles are bothering way more than the team is letting on? TC hasn't really had any burst when he runs, even including the NDSU game, and doesn't really look like he is using is back foot for push when he is throwing (aka poor mechanics), he's using all arm/ upper body which leads to high throws.

Well don't then, it will not ruin my day. I thought their program has improved under new leadership, even Mangerelli said so in the post game interview on the radio.

Not here to ruin your day. Holy Moly! Just backing up my argument with actual stats.

I will agree with you their program has improved. If that would have been your initial statement I would have agreed with you. Have a nice day.

I will blame it this time on the RB. If Wallace would of put his head down and went straight up the field, he would of probably had the first down. Instead, he cut outside to make a big play and didn't have any momentum. Parris would have had the first down because of the way he runs.

I will be fine, but if you look at the program from yesterday, Christion comes close to leading in positive yards. According to the program he had 388 before yesterdays game, but he also gets charged for all the sacks, so his net yardage is 256 with 132 in negative yardage. It looked to me yesterday that he was often stopped on the run plays that had worked for him in prior games, and that's where I think MSU did some home work. Just my opinion. Mangerilli had 390 net yards and he got I think 79 yesterday. And yes we are lacking in a running game this year and have depended on our QB for some of those yards.

We've been hearing about Christion's running ability a lot this season. He hasn't ran very much/physical this season compared to last season. He is still a better runner than Lujan but he isn't anywhere close to what he was last season. I guess it just depends on what you are expecting/hoping for. It might be better for keeping him healthy but it takes a weapon of his out of the game.
I wonder what the difference in passing numbers would be between Lujan's and Christian's numbers if Lujan played this whole season. I like sticking with one QB and Christian is playing good but he has a lot going for him. A good OL, two possible NFL receivers, throwing the ball a ton, etc...
I'm not saying they should switch to Lujan but I think either QB would put up awesome numbers with the system SDSU has right now.

Christion not running as much or as physical is completely by design. As you mentioned briefly, it helps him stay healthy, which for the most part has this year. I think he has done a great job of deciding on when to put his head down and grind or when to let up and save himself. I also think that come playoff time, we will see them utilize his running ability more, as we did against NDSU. It is such a huge weapon, and I think the coaches are managing it brilliantly.

As for wondering what Lujan would have done, let's not even go there. You can't look at the way the line has played, the receivers have played, or throwing the ball a lot, because everything would change if Lujan was in there. There is no way to know how much of the team's success is due to TC starting and it's not even worth debating imo.

Bingo. Like you said, the NDSU game was the only time where the game plan was to run TC . Worked great.

I'm with you guys. A QB that consistently rushes for 60+yards per game is an amazing weapon until he is being taken to the locker room for x-rays. Only rush with the QB as little as you have to.

Besides, our QB has already broken the MVFC single season yardage record - as a sophomore and with two games to go. Not too shabby.

Also just looking at yardage completely overlooks what I feel is his greatest weapon with his feet, buying tons of time in the pocket. That's the best thing about him TBH.

I'll sign on to be in this camp. IMO there is something definitely a little off with his throwing since the 3rd quarter of the YSU game. Not that its horrible he's obviously still getting it done, but He's not as lights out with accuracy as he was early on in the season.
