  • Robert Morris

I know it's a ways off yet, but I was just looking at the game stats from the Youngstown State game last weekend.

    http://espn.go.com/college-football/...meId=400795498

They only threw the ball 11 times?

And their one Running Back had 33 carries.

A bit of a change in philosophy from what SUU and Kansas do.

Otherwise, I really don't know much about them.

Their RB Owens scored on a 41 yard run. Also had 152 yards for the game. We will need to stop their run and keep Owens in the backfield. This could be a good primer for NDSU game that follows the next week.

I would like to think this plays into our defensive strength. We're tough up the middle, quick pursuing lb's and hard hitting db's. Also some great depth at each level of the D. Tackling or wrapping up for that matter is the only issue I've seen so far.

I saw on anygivensaturday.com that one of the YSU fans stated that the game was played in a continuous rain storm and that field conditions were quite poor. May have had a huge impact on the stats/philosophies for both teams.

                      I found this message board:

                      http://robertmorris.forums.rivals.co...-free-forum.6/

RMU has a game this weekend so there is not yet any activity about the Beef Bowl game. It looks like there is enough activity on the board that there should be discussion starting after there game this weekend against Notre Dame of Ohio. I believe that particular Notre Dame is a Division II program that plays in the Mountain East Conference.

I'm glad we have this game after the bye to tune up for the marker game. Just in case we come out rough after the bye.

                          Robert Morris 9/26

While today's Sagarin/USA Today rankings have SDSU at 67, the highest-rated FCS team in Division I, this coming weekend's opponent, Robert Morris, is ranked 213. There are 253 D I teams rated.

This weekend (9/19) Robert Morris hosted Notre Dame College (Ohio). It was homecoming for Robert Morris. Robert Morris notched its first win of the season, 35-24 (prior losses to Dayton, a non-scholarship FCS team in the Pioneer League, 27-24; and Youngstown, 21-14 in overtime). Here's a link to the Bob Morris official site and its report on the game: http://rmucolonials.com/news/2015/9/19/FB_0919155505.aspx

What is Notre Dame College (Ohio)? It is NCAA Div II and is a charter member of the newly formed Mountain East Conference. They are 1-2 on the season.

5dimes has spoken. According to them, SDSU is favored by 42. Sagarin's system predicts a win margin of 36.2 points. Assuming we are in control of the game, it will be interesting to see how long we keep our foot on the pedal with a huge matchup next week looming.
