Paul Pabst, producer on Dan Patrick show, gave SDSU football win as best of weekend. Paulie is a big fan of FCS football. He graduated from Southern Illinois. Not the first time he has talked about Jacks.

One guy not mentioned much: True Freshman punter Brady Hale. If he does his job, we shouldn't be talking about him. I thought he showed good poise for a freshmen. 3 of 4 punts inside the 20. The last punt late in the 4th was somewhat suspect, but some of that goes on the coverage team as well.

My understanding was because they were kicking into the wind late in the 4th quarter he was instructed to punt it low for more distance.

Along the lines of special teams, Carlson looked steady in only his 2nd and 3rd FG attempts. Granted, they were rather short, but they were high and right down the middle. I was kind of worried about this, but it looks like it may not be an issue.

              Almost won this game.

But in the end, the good guys prevailed

He also won MVFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Hopefully by now everyone is realizing just what we have with Wieneke. He seems to solidify his reputation further with each game and is well on the way to being one of the all-time greats, if not the best-ever at his position. The kid was 130 yards from breaking the all-time single season receiving yardage record last year as a freshman. He's already almost half-way to the career yardage record (1,564 yards vs. 3,621 yards) with (hopefully) 75% of his career still in front of him.

We do have a back-up punter. Troy hunhoff #90 had some good punts in warm-ups in Kansas.

                    Both punters are Yankton kids.

If people don't recognize it already, I don't think they ever will! 😊 Great freshman year & then goes out for track to improve his speed & explosiveness. Zenner alone was worth the price of my season ticket the last few years. Weineke will be worth it the next few. He is a beast.

Were those all former Jacks or some team members who didn't make the trip?

I was sitting near those guys. If I'm correct chase Douglas, Pete, jake gentile and a few other who I didn't recognize. They were all into the game a lot and you could tell that they wanted the win as much as anyone there. When Stig talks about the team being a family he isn't wrong. A bunch of the players sought them out after the game to celebrate with them. It was pretty cool.
One other thing I question with this team. Do we think they have a chip on their shoulders from hearing all about the guys who have left and feel like they are being maybe disrespected or under appreciated and they now have an attitude to show that they can win w/o the big three and accomplish more? If that's the case, I hope they keep it as season long.

Team members that don't make the trip can travel on their own and stand on the sidelines with the team. That was just family and friends of the athletes congratulating them.

Family and friends, but a very large number of former players were on hand as well. Stig mentioned how gratifying that was, because "they had a hand in getting us to where we are today." He said they rightly felt that they have ownership in the program and where it is.
