My optimism is based on what the program has accomplished in a relatively short time, the direction and path of the program, and the bang we should get out of the new facilities. I think we can test the stadium's capacity in the near term but the foundation for that is whether we seize today's (2-3 years) opportunity. With fans like this who needs enemas.....

The big difference between SDSU and NDSU/Montana are the season ticket holders. I feel like TV said we were around 5000 last year or something. I feel like NDSU and Montana are both well above 15,000 season ticket holders which is why it is hard to get tickets to those venues if your a fan of the opposing team.
If we can get up to even 10,000 season ticket holders-- which would be a monumental task-- we would be able to greatly increase our atmosphere, create stability, and increase the value of our ticket.
I agree with what JackJD wrote. The next 2-3 years are immensely critical. I think a win this weekend at Kansas would be an exceptional start to the new era of Jacks football.

Since 2000 (15 seasons), there have been 18 MVFC teams with 10 or more wins at the end of the year. Pretty much 1 team a year finishes with 10 or more wins. UNI has won 10 or more games 5 times, just once since the XDSU's joined the league in 2008.
Since the XDSU's joined the conference in 2008 (7 seasons), there have been 8 MVFC teams that have won 10 or more games. Pretty much 1 team a year finishes with 10 or more wins. NDSU has won 10 or more games 4 times since joining the league, each season winning the national championship. The other team to manage a 10 win in the XDSU era lost to NDSU in the championship game last season.
I fully expect SDSU football to get some 10 win seasons. But if it takes 10 win seasons becoming the norm to fill the stadium consistently or even get to 10,000 season ticket holders, you're going to be disappointed.“I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I’m with isn’t it, and what’s it seems scary and wierd. It’ll happen to you.” — Abe Simpson
