Who cares about our offense. It is DEFENSE that wins championships. Just ask Oregon how many championships they have one with that ahem "potent" offense and Swiss cheese defense. Brian Kelly, offensive genius, realized he needed to start with DEFENSE to get ND back on top. Look what he did.

The Bison defense is FBS caliber, especially the front 7. Jensen is the Dilfer/Grossman of the team. All he has to do is not screw it up and let the offense run the ball. Blind and one legged is not far off.

Run the ball + defense = championships.

We are still NDSU's football b**ch. The Valley and maybe the FCS is theirs until someone proves otherwise.

Congrats to the Jackrabbit men for taking a step forward this year. We should be proud of what they did this year and raise the bar for next year. It's disappointing to lose the way we did, but we lost to the better team today. There is a lot of blame to go around today and excuses are just excuses. We lost to the defending National Champs in their house - pay attention to what they are doing and get after them next year.

Good luck to the Bison - represent the MVC.

The problem is not Stig, not even close. If you want better coaches (which i do not think is the problem) you guys better get out your checkbooks and pony up b/c our coaches don't make squat...as a matter of fact, I will pretty certain that the Bison assistants make double what our guys do. We need more playmakers on offense, bottom line

I disagree. Yes the coaches are probably underpaid but thats a philosophy, state pay rate problem. Stig has been out coached his whole career. The one thing the have done is getting good talent, they just havent been able to make good use of it. Sumner was hurt, ndsu has a great defense, but to get nothing going is pretty embarrassing. I hate to say it but as long as the coaches are the same the jacks will never make it out of the first round. I watched them get out coached in the second half of the montana game by a coached who got fired. Like I said, i always have liked stig but recycling coaches will never get him where he wants to be. And I dont make enough to pay for a coaches salary, tried to hit the powerball and would have bought a new field but i missed.

FCS is NDSU's b**ch. We are closer than they may think, but we need to improve. They have 3 starting seniors, so they're not going anywhere - let's see what our young men can do in the weightroom in the next year. Recruiting will be huge again this year - have faith Jackrabbit Nation. We have a very high bar being set 3 hours up the road. Let's get our facilities plan working together with our coaches - we are getting closer to a level playing field in that regard.

I expect great things next year - Go Jackrabbits.

We were badly, badly outcoached. Players didn't perform well, but were not coached to know what to expect. One coaching staff in the game today is completely predictable. The other...not. Today, it starts at the top. I'll be very interested to know whether Stig takes the bullet in his comments. He should. In Montana, he dumped on the players. The bulk of the blame is on the coaches...then and now.

We can talk all we want about how we're not scared about going up to Fargo, but I don't buy that a bit. Scared to death. One win since Kennedy. Just saying.

Bison seem like they're in play off mode.They elevated their game today.If we can't win the play offs, I guess I'll congratulate the Bison and wish them well.Do the upper plains and MVFC proud.

What bothered me the most was not that we lost, what bothered me was the fact the coaches/team didn't seem prepared for this game. If the Bison were 25pts better I could understand the beat down, but they aren't so that is what bothers me the most

I thought we got out coached really bad in this game, and I'll leave it at that. I hope the players and the coaches learned something tonight and use it as motivation throughout the off season because we will be bringing back a lot of talent.

That said, one game doesn't take away from an overall good season by both the players and the coaches. Going into the year, I figured we were a year away and would be a 6-5, 7-4 team, but they exceeded my expectations and probably most other people's. Thanks to all the seniors who made this a special season and laying the foundation for future success.

I know there are a few more games left to play, but if the Bison win it all, it will be hard for me to believe that they can win with Jensen as their QB.

Jensen already had won a Championship so how hard is it to believe?

Screen? Did you say screen?? We believe in swing passes not screens!! Never ran a halfback screen with Meadows and I don't believe we ran one this year either. We believe in the WR jailbreak screen that usually gets stuffed! We don't believe in any fancy stuff either like a WR reverse for example or anything different. We are so blah and against a team that we played 3 weeks ago we should have tried to pull out all the stops. We rarely used our TEnd's and Cam Jones is a very good player that should have received more attention than what he got. Redshirt freshman or not. Losing Kage on the line didn't help and losing Tiefenthaler last week didn't help either. Always provided a spark. Bottom line as most have pointed out is that their defensive line dominated the game and their offense threw us a few different things that we did not prep for. We would throw them nothing differently offensively cause we don't believe in anything like that. That is Stig's philosophy/fault in my opinion. No gimmick stuff ever- just vanilla! Proud of our Jack players for what they were able to accomplish this year after back to back 5-6 seasons. I believe we will be salty again next year and tough to beat again. Good luck to NDSU and Illinois St. as they go on to next week.
