    Re: Eastern Illinois University

Got my ticket bought and printed today. Pretty pumped to be able to tailgate and watch another game at CAS this year.

EIU has a nice list of alums that have made an impact on professional sports:

Tony Romo - I think he's still playing in the NFL
Brad Childress - used to coach in the NFL (although my memories of him aren't the best)
Mike Shanahan - still coaching in the NFL
Sean Payton - currently suspended from the NFL
Kevin Duckworth -never played in the NFL, but rather NBA

Large number of tickets available. I hope we can get to 10,000.

Yeah,I think I would leave Chilly out of the promotional brochure. Isn't he a coordinator with Browns this season ?

Yes, Childress is the OC for the Browns. However, I think he deserves a mention for the work he did with the Eagles even though he never called the plays and now he thinks he can

Yeah, you can still get tickets that are basically at the 50-yard line. And even more tickets are going to be released at 9 this morning. That's when the unclaimed season tickets hit the market. Jackrabbit fans are going to have to up their game here to properly support the first-ever home playoff game in program history. Sell said he wants 10,000 people in the joint. I fear we've got a long way to go.
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!

Yeah, yesterday my dad picked up our tickets. Right at the 50 yard line. Rows 12 & 13. Seats 5 & 6. I'm hoping for a big walk up crowd. If not it could be kind of empty. At least those who attend will be the die hards and will be able to stand up ad get loud without getting yelled at!

I wish I could go Saturday but Holiday-related family obligations have ruled it out. This is a big day for SDSU and it's too bad it falls on a complicated weekend for so many. To ease my guilt I made an online donation to the Indoor Practice Facility. Hopefully the football team's success will get a few more to do the same. It's easy: http://www.sdsufoundation.org/iphpf

Been there done that. Might do again if year end taxes require it.

You are welcome. Those kind of problems sneak up on you. The Indoor facility is going to be something, will fill the field at CAS so Justin Sell said at one of those forum meetings.

It is going to take a huge walk-up to exceed 10,000. I'm guessing 7500 max. I've been to a lot of games at CAS in November and if the opponent isn't NDSU or USD the numbers are not good. Tailgate lot will be sparse. If the weather holds in the mid to upper 30's and the wind doesn't howl 7500 is doable. I'd be stunned if 10,000 show up.

Now, attendance is a lot less relevant that winning. Jacks have every chance to dominate this game. Patience on offense and defense and on the sidelines will be the key. Chain gang needs to take their time setting the sticks and the ball boys need to hold onto the ball until the refs snag it from their hands.
