I know there are a lot of complaints about the offense, but that is one really good D we just played right there! We forget too many times that the other team gets a vote in how we play. There were some iffy calls, but go over to the Saluki forum and these same conversations are going on, the good part is we won and move on! This Saluki team almost beat NDSU and did beat UNI. I think we were so evenly matched that's how these games play out....look at the ISU's. This is a tough conference and whoever says this team isn't a playoff team has got cow**** between their ears! Let's GO RABBITS!!!!!

Tiefenthaler was lights out when he was on the field! I think someone said in a different thread to get Rollin and Tiefenthaler on the same side. Good call common sense! I am not sayn this is the total answer but we need to get Tief more touches. Great win!

Interesting, how Lennon was being quizzed by apparently a reporter for one of the local newspaper. Losing this game did not help his image in Carbondale. I noticed also Coach Lennon is taking on a Carbondale accent, one often referred to in Ohio as a briar or a Kentucky accent.

These interviews with both coach's and Austin are good listening for any Jackrabbit fan. You may not agree with what everything Coach Stig does but he is truly a class act. Congrats to Coach Stig on his 100th win and it was a duzzie!

I read through the relevant threads on SalukiTalk. I suppose the reaction isn't surprising from their point of view. But, no need for any other 'Rabbit fans to read it. Just take my word on that.

I haven't read anything, but I did listen to this game, and it reminded me of the Notre Dame game somewhat where both teams had opportunities to make the win look much easier, something where you can look at parts of the game and SDSU should have won, not easily but safely, couldn't get anything going early, fumbled inside the 5, safety, bad punts, and other things. But then you can look at it and say SIU should have won safely, not letting 4th and 19 be converted, controlling the ball at the end of the game, converting on some 3rd downs in no mans land.

But again winning is the key to the game, and at the end of the day it goes in as a W, to get to the playoffs you need to win these type of games rather then lose them.

Wow! Its always interesting to read a frustrated losing visitors fan board. Some of these guys want to fire everyone and start over.

Sumner did a BEAUTIFUL job of spinning out of pressure on that last play.

Great play Sumner! Great win Jacks! Whats up by the way with Coach Stig after the game? Gave no love to anyone after the game for his 100th win. Like its just all expected? C'mon Stig- give it up to your players who bust their tail for u!
