Quick observation from the Twin Cities. The Pioneer Press had an extensive list of all signing. It would appear that Augustana made quite a haul in Minnesota this year. From a quick glance they had more football signings in Minnesota than any other school.

Hoping for good things out of SDSU's class in the coming years. Great job on paper by our staff.
I updated my signature for the first time in six years.

Was reading a thread on gopherhole.com on Iowa Western CC transfers, and Chris Monter who is a recruiting expert has Andrew Brown coming to the Jacks, and also lists a WR,Austin Knowlton transferring to SDSU. I'm guessing this is a mistake,as I have never seen him mentioned as someone the Jacks had interest in.

Looking at the stats section,Knowlton only caught 3 passes in 8 games,so I am guessing he would be a walk-on if he is coming to Brookings at all. Not great stats, unless he is a blocking tight end.

He then would have to grow about 5-7 inches and put on about 60 lbs. Knowlton is 5'9" and 165 lbs.

Thats a small tight end. My guess is a WR.

These are three guys that I think would have looked great in a Jacks uniform.

I saw this as well. I figured it was a USD signing, but I didn't see him on their list. I'm assuming it's a mixup, but you never know.

Acoording to the Argus,Augie signed 34 players. They must be giving a lot of partial scholarships.

                            Can't be a good thing if you're signing 34 players. That's a third of a team's roster.

Thats D-II football though, sign a ton, many of them to partial scholarships and be lucky if a 3rd of them graduate. As far as the local radio shows saying Northern has a good class, its not much different then the paper media and general concessions in South Dakota. South Dakota has this mind set that they love that name. Remember how good Louie Krogram was going to be? Not saying he is bad, but if he was THAT good he would have went somewhere other then a transitional D-I school. I guess I'm use to it, they all push the local kids and would rather talk up the local kids playing college sports then to do any research on the out of area recruits that may be playing.

That's an anomoly for DII football even. There's no reason to be bringing in that many guys unless there's been some attrition in the ranks. I know how DII recruiting is...not that different from FBS. You bring in mid-20 number of recruits and hope that some pan out over the long haul. But 34!!!!!! That's something else.
