Bills have a pretty deep set of linebackers. Hope Batten makes it here or gets a chance to make it elsewhere.

I count 12 LBs which (at this point in time) is probably not excessive for a 3-4 system. Minnesota's carrying 9, which is 3 deep for a 4-3. And I'm thinking that Batten's experience as a DE in college gives him a bit of an advantage as an OLB on a 3-4.Originally posted by NoVaJack View Post -

That's a long story without hardly a mention of his name. Good luck to him and I hope he's able to make the team. I watched the game and he was all over the field and was in on at least 5-6 tackles and it was reported that he had 2 sacks and 2 QB hurries.Originally posted by boxerboy View Post

Batten should get some good playing time Saturday against Denver with Shawne Merriman sitting out the game to rest his knee http://tinyurl.com/44msvt7
Batten is listed third on the depth chart at JLB behind Merriman so hopefully he sees even more time. On a note of irony he is listed as JLB which stands for Jack Linebacker.Comment

anybody heard anything on Batten? A Bills blog seemed to think he was a cinch in this post on the projected 53 from a couple days ago:
