    Re: 2012 Recruiting List

Nice class so far. I really like our continuing strength of recruiting in AZ and IL. Hopefully this will continue to create a pipeline of players for years to come. Of course I love seeing SD kids, not to mention the surrounding states as well.

Couldn't find an individual highlight reel on Dallas Brown, but found his team's highlight video on youtube.

Dallas wears jersey #1 and is the QB.

I didn't see Mr. Brown play any defense on the video, but he displays a lot of athleticism as a QB.

If things keep moving like this, there won't be much suspense on signing day, which is OK.

    And another per TV:

Seth Lansman, a 6-7, 255-pound OL from Harlan, Iowa, said that he has given a verbal to SDSU. His bro, Luke, plays WR for the Jacks.

Charles Elmore went to St. Rita High School in Chicago, who has a huge rivalry with current SDSU linebacker Jack Sherlock's high school, Mt. Carmel.

It looks like he had offers from a couple of MAC schools. That seems like a nice grab by the Jacks.

Nebraska does do a great job with selling kids on its walk-on program (no doubt) and I know many of them commit with the complete understanding of what the walk-on means and the actual chances of them ever playing. No problem with that. But its the over-recruiting, "grey shirts" and lying to recruits that bugs me, and Nebraska is by no means #1 on this, they are actually probably behind every SEC school when it comes to these practices. But it bugs me when a recruit (and I'm generalizing here) who lets say is a 3 star recruit, has scholarship offers from a # of FCS schools and a few lower FBS schools. But he decides to walk-on at (insert name)-University. Which I understand, maybe he really wanted to play there. But if you read down, he will explain that its a grey shirt, or that they promised me a scholarship after the first year because they really liked him but were capped out, or something like that.

Those are the situations that bother me.

The big SD does a great job of selling kids that no matter if you want to go around here your better off taking your talents some where else.
