I wasn't, and that is why I'll be holding a press conference to apologize for my actions... as soon as my publicist finishes writing my apology... and after I have improved on my ability to cry in public.

I'm guilty. Gave myself negative rep points.

I'll have banana cream pie, today.

Just make sure you have two cameras at the apology, in case one of them stops working.

For fans who think because they've bought a ticket, they have a right to do whatever it takes to influence the outcome of a game, perhaps those fans (they exist or have the potential to exist at every school) ought to think that many other fans -- the overwhelming majority -- do not appreciate some of their tactics.

I remember being told many years ago that the problem with using profanity is the very words are intended to evoke a strong response -- a response that is unpredictable. HoboJack wrote that those doing the heckling did not know how the listener would receive their words. Like swearing at someone, heckling someone is intended to evoke a strong response -- a response which cannot be predicted. One of the Bison posters noted this has happened before at NDSU games. Coach Kampe laughs it off. Coach Nagy ignores it. Coach Hunter got upset. That's the point: the hecklers are trying to get a reaction. So, they get one from Coach Hunter (and now some criticize the Coach for reacting??? What the heck kind of logic is that?) The hecklers wanted the Coach to react. They got what they wanted.

"Just heckling" is like "just swearing" at someone. Don't be surprised when the very intent of one's heckling, strikes a nerve and there is a reaction.

To me, what Coach Hunter did isn't too relevant. He wouldn't have done anything if the jerks in the crowd didn't push until they got a reaction.

I listened to most of Coach Hunter's radio interview. I'm not going back to listen to it again but I believe I heard him say (go listen to it yourself) that the comments being shouted at the IUPUI bench were racially motivated or words to that effect. He didn't seem to state that racial epithets were being thrown at them...just that under the circumstances he concluded there was a racial overtone to the comments.

I've heard fans brag about how they got into the heads of the opposing team or coaches. Is that what some "fans" think they get when they buy a ticket? I think that is not the case in Frost Arena and for 99.9% of the fans in NDSU's BSA, that's not the case. I think "fans" like that have no business sitting in the same arena where college athletes are trying to do their best playing a game.

There is a line out there that can be crossed and vigorous fan support becomes impermissible heckling. Those who push the limit will cause more security and tighter rules that will have the unintended consequence of dampening what otherwise is probably acceptable fan involvement. I've read many times how some NDSU fans get upset at what they call the Dome Nazis. Don't they wonder why the Dome Nazis came about? Now they'll talk about the BSA Nazis.
I forgot to mention that a situation similar to this happened vs. SUU last year. SUU coaches and few players reacted like IUPUI did but SUU didnt pull the race card so it wasnt a 'huge' deal.

As far as you are concerned, since SUU did not play race card, that incident does not count sort of like road games.
