1. You wouldn't have known Hitchcock from Nocock as wasted as you were for 4 days.

    2. Since NDSU enrollment is around 13,000 are you including dudes as part of your 'hot co-eds'?

Whoops....got a little smackish there for a moment.

    Answer to thread question: Yes

You are including the Canadian Students who do their spring break in Fargo, and also do a little sand bagging if called upon. What is funnier yet was some gentlemen called KFGO, Joel Hietkamp show, and suggested that a dam be built on the Red River north of Fargo in order to keep the flood away from Fargo. The problem is that the Red flows north. . Was that you doing the calling Lakesbison?

Fargo feels like Canada to me.

Exactly. If Hitchcock had 40,000 more residents than Fargo-Moorhead.
I'm looking forward to Sioux Falls hosting the tourney. I had a great time despite the weather issues.
Weather was crappy last year......that just means it will be great this year. Bring your clubs!

Tea. good point, that blizzard was horrible.

Last year would've added 1500-2000 more NDSU fans, now of course without woody and company, the average NDSU fan might not drive down, but by god, show us a banana belt!!

I am unhappy with the direction of this thread.

I very, very strongly suggest that it change.

He deleted the posts responsible, so he wasn't referring to you.

I think it should stay in SF. I didn't get to go to any of the games, but it looked good on TV with full bleachers everywhere, especially compared to some of the other conference tournaments.

Re: Will Summit tourney stay in Sioux Falls?

I do believe Fargo can do just as good a job as SF(and bring in as much corporate money). If UND is added to the Summit, Fargo is a bit better from a travel perspective. The combined distance of the four Dakota schools to Fargo is about 570 miles to SF's 680. GF is the worst at 720 miles. It's not a huge difference, but it's something. I wouldn't be surprised to see a five-year average of Fargo x 2/SF x 2/Tulsa x 1. Or more accurately, SF/F/T/SF/F in a ten-year block starting with the next contract(2011-12) in SF.

When it comes to Sioux Falls v. Fargo as far as who would be more successful, I think the site matters less than the competitiveness of the Dakota teams. If the xDSU's and UxD's (presumably of course) are all top 1/2 of the conference standings going into the tourney, the tourney is going to have great attendance regardless of whether it's in Sioux Falls or Fargo.
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

Very true, which is why I think Fargo and Sioux Falls will get the tourney more often than not. If USD is added without UND(possible, if unlikely), then I think the tourney will most often be held in SF. If UND is added as well, then I see a more even split between the two cities. Regardless, I don't see SF doing any worse than tying for the most likely tourney location.

Obviously Fargo has an advantage that they have NDSU right there. SF has an advantage in coorporate sponsorship and a proven track record. Both locations would be fine places to hold the event. Both places would support a lower tier conference (like the Summit) better than almost anyone in the nation. Don't believe me, watch ESPN Championship week and see what kind of attendance the lower tier conferences get. Adding the UxD's is the frosting on the cake.

I don't think the travel perspective among Dakota schools will figure in one bit. If it's in Fargo it's a cakewalk to everyone but USD (just over 4 hour trip) and if it's in SF the same can be said for UND (4 1/2 hours from SF). I've made the SF to GF trip so many times I'd rather eat worms, but it's still a very, very doable and inexpensive trip.

If money and athlete experience are really the only two concerns then it will be in the Dakotas for a very long time.

dont involve UND in this discussions, they are irrelavent, and will be irrelavant in any basketball discussions.

Minneapolis (target center) would be fun as hell!

                                Chicago too would be Great.

                                Kansas city.

                                Las Vegas.

thats 4 places better than sioux falls.
