The top 4 teams sweep the games this weekend. There were a couple of close games, but USD, SDSU, ORU, & NDSU stay in the top half and extend the distance to rest of the conference mates. February will match these teams.

It's amazing how back-loaded the schedule is. The top four teams will not play each other until the last four weeks of the season.

Kansas City does the Dakota schools a favor by beating ORU by 5 in Tulsa. The Golden Eagles now have two losses, both at home.

If there are 2 teams that would be winless, how will the winning percentage be calculated to make the cut for SLT? It is possible there would be games cancelled due to Covid to make that possible.

Omaha is just awful at this point. Hard to tell if it's lack of talent, or simply not having played many games over a long period of time. Probably a combination of both. What is obvious is that the Jacks four canceled games were against the two weakest teams in the conference.

The Leathernecks get the first conference win on the road in Grand Forks. The new point guard is a plus as WIU 99 over UND 87.
The Roos get the win today 49-47 as Bison get another loss in conference.
Omaha stays winless in a close game in Vermillion as they go down 97-93. Plitzuweit scores 37 points in 38 minutes and Umude gets 24 points in 36 minutes. The Yotes shoot 60% and Mavs shoot 57%.

The top three teams are 20-2 and the bottom four teams are 1-19. This unbalanced schedule is crazy. It will be fun the next four weeks though.

KC is one to watch. They played without their top 3 scorers and gave NDSU all they could handle for two games. I would not be thrilled to have to face that outstanding defense in Sioux Falls. That's a recipe for disaster if a team has an off shooting night.

The Fighting Hawks win OT at Denver 85-82 on Friday. Saturday's game goes to OT and it is 85-81 as Pioneers get that first conference victory.

Tough week for teams is coming. Crunch time for Omaha to get a win at UMKC. Leathernecks have the last home series against Pioneers who would like to get a bit of distance from Omaha. The Yotes travel to Grand Forks. Fighting Hawks have a few splits in the 2 game series. This could be a test for the Yotes. Jackrabbits in Tulsa could be testy with the inconsistent and dangerous ORU. Defense will be the key to keep the scorers Abmas & Obanor in check. The run to SLT is set in February's schedule.
