    http://www.bracketmatrix.com/

I like this site. It averages all the brackets and seeds teams based on that. We are currently the 3rd 14 seed. We've climbed several spots over the last month believe it or not.

If we win out I think we end up a 13 seed.

There is a lot of bad basketball all around the country this year!

It is nearly the worst conference in the nation. The bottom 6 teams are really bad. And the top 3 are just okay. I was hoping the Jacks would be better this year, like a top 60 RPI team. Oh well.

Yes, they have some tough games coming up. ORU, SDSU and Omaha are coming to Fargo this month and then they finish on the road at PFW. I'll give NDSU credit for taking care of business the last couple of weeks, they have separated themselves from bottom of the league in the standings. However, it's hard to get TOO excited about their winning streak. They got ORU without both Kearns and Nzekwesi and UND without Avants. The WIU game was a 2-pt win - still, it was a road win. I watched their last two games and was not blown away by anything. Each game could have gone either way very easily.

Omaha at USD (Pentagon) should be entertaining on Midco tonight. USD has look awful their last two games. I would have thought that getting TBM back in the lineup would have really elevated things but they've gone the other direction. They're going to have to pick up the pace, scoring wise, tonight.

    WUI @ PFW 6pm
    Denver @ ORU 7pm
Omaha @ USD playing at Pentagon on Midco2/ESPN+ Weather may influence attendance for this home game in SF.

    SDSU +12.3 pts (average 85.5 pts/game vs giving up 73.2 pts./game)
    UNO +5.3
    PFW +4.8
    NDSU -1.4
    UND -3.3
    ORU -4.1
    W IL -4.2
    USD -4.7
    Den -5.3

SDSU is 2nd in league scoring behind PFW. Two points seperate the two teams after 10 league games. We've given up 77 less points than PFW. That's a whole game's worth of scoring!

SDSU is first in defense at 73.2 pts/game. There have been several games this season where the Jacks have taken their foot off the accelerator, like yesterday's game at Denver. (Give credit to Denver's coach for developing a game plan to win the last 8 minutes.) The disparity could be worse if we don't lay an egg at PFW or finish off teams in the 2nd halves of some games.
The combination of Daum's rebounding, T King's shutdown ability of top scorers and no weak links defensively, makes for a really good defense. Not the type of defense that will necessarily win games in the Big Dance, but it will keep us in games where our scoring can win. But alas, it is more important to go 1-0 this week instead of talking post season.
Great thing to look at. Your post made me want to look at the KenPom offense/defense numbers. They have full year numbers adjusted for pace of play and quality of opponent.

    1. SDSU +8.49
    2. UNO -0.23
    3. PFW -3.24
    4. NDSU -4.08
    5. USD -6.04
    6. Western Illinois -9.09
    7. UND -9.69
    8. Denver -11.53
    9. Oral Roberts -11.90

    1) I think this shows how wide the gap is between SDSU and everyone else.
    2) It also shows how bad the rest of the league is this year. I can't remember a time when there was only one team that had a positive offensive/defensive efficiency differential.
    3) If you adjust for pace of play and quality of opponent like KenPom does, SDSU moves to the #1 SL offense (39th overall), UNO moves to #2 SL offense (57th overall), and PFW drops to #3 SL offense (87th overall). Really shows how much their pace pushes their scoring total.
    4) Defensively by Ken Pom, USD is baaaaaarely better than SDSU. Remember though, this is a full season look. SDSU struggled a bit at the beginning of the season and USD has been hit hard and cratered more recently. I think by the end of the year, SDSU will jump them defensively.

After today, if you give a point for a road win (+1) and take a point for a home loss (-1), here is how we stand.

    Jacks +5
    UNO +2
    PFW +2
    NDS +1
    USD +1
    UND -2
    ORU -2
    Den -3
    W IL -4

UND is in the mix for 9th. USD has the easiest schedule remaining.

Omaha playing UND now on Midco and they are looking the part of 9th place. Under 4 and 40-27 in favor of Mavs.

Yes, WIU is now firmly in the mix for 9th. It will be them or Denver. We will learn a lot tomorrow about DU. Will they come out and fight, or rollover dead?
