The yote women take on Omaha today at 2pm on the road. Will be interesting to see if the Mavs keep it close after their poor performance against SDSU.

USD women beat Omaha 70-55. They led by 15 at halftime, were outscored by 15 in the 3rd and outscored Omaha by 15 in the 4th.

              Men's race is still tight.,
              SDSU 8-2
              IPFW 8-3
              Omaha 7-4
              IUPUI 7-4
              NDSU 6-4
              Denver 5-6
              ORU 3-8
              USD 3-8
              WIU 1-9
Leathernecks will need to get hot to avoid missing the tourney. Preseason 3rd place ORU appears on the bubble.

Still tight but wow what a great week for the Jacks in terms of a turnaround by the rest of the conference teams. Omaha looks to be melting down. Loved their players before our game about how everyone was shooting for them because they were in first place. Seems like everyone hit em square. NDSU chased Landis around like crazy, what an effort to shut him down but their freshmen Konchar (sp) was off too. They rely heavily on two players and they can't afford an off night. Big game tomorrow. Put Omaha out of the running with a win tomorrow.

                  Women's race
                  USD 10-1
                  SDSU 9-1
                  ORU 8-3
                  IUPUI 7-3
                  WIU 6-5
                  Omaha 4-7
                  Denver 2-9
                  IPFW 1-9
                  NDSU 1-10
A very close race for 9th place. USD only has 2 games which might stop them-SDSU at the Dome and a road game to IUPUI. Jackrabbits play both of their games on road and of course they need to win both to take the top spot. Everyone else is playing for third at this time. IUPUI could take second if they win out.

Interesting that they have NDSU above both IUPUI and Omaha in their power ranking.

Seems fairly legit in terms of how they are currently playing compared to NDSU.

I can't fault them for that ranking order, based on what happened last week. Things should clarify a lot in the next five days. Lots of big games on the men's side.

                          - Can IUPUI stop their skid on the road at ORU?

                          - How will Omaha handle both SDSU and NDSU on their home court? Losing to both could possibly drop them as far as sixth! Winning both is a sign that last week was just a bump in the road.

                          - How is USD going to respond to the chaos that seems to be going on behind the scenes? They get NDSU (home) and SDSU this week just like Omaha. They could possibly be in last place by Sunday.

                          - Can the Jacks big up another big road win and virtually assure themselves of playing on Saturday in Sioux Falls?

                          - How will NDSU handle two road games with their leading scorer (possibly) out? They could find themselves in the top-3 or as far down as sixth by the end of the weekend.

With last night's loss to Omaha, SDSU still controls its destiny for a top two slot in the post season tourney - but the top of the conference is still tight.

                            SDSU: 8-3 USD, @FW, @WIU, NDSU, ORU
                            IPFW: 8-3 Denver, SDSU, UNO, @WIU, @IUPUI
                            UNO: 8-4 NDSU, @IUPUI, @FW, ORU
                            IUPUI: 7-4 @ORU, UNO, @NDSU, USD, FW
                            NDSU: 6-4 @USD, @UNO, WIU, IUPUI, @SDSU, @Denver

SDSU - nothing easy about the remaining schedule, but Vegas will likely have them picked to win out (FW game could be a toss up from Vegas). Getting Bittle healthy and overcoming dreadful production from the charity stripe could cause problems.

IPFW has remained resilient despite losing Mo Evans to injury. Dealing with Denver's unique style of play followed by tough opponents at home with SDSU/UNO is tough enough. Finishing out the year at WIU and IUPUI will be challenging too.

UNO has been Jekyl and Hyde since Christmas. They tore up the league early before faltering last week. Last night's rebound win proves they will be in the hunt, but a pair of games on the road in Indiana could prevent them from landing a top two spot.

IUPUI - after losing to Denver and getting thumped by SDSU last week, the Jags may have had their confidence shaken. Road games at ORU and NDSU are both winnable, but those combined with home dates against USD, UNO, and IPFW is challenging. Arguably the 2nd easiest schedule after SDSU's.

NDSU has the toughest road, but they are only one game back in the loss column. Four road games with some roster challenges and an injury to their top scorer could be difficult to over come.

Bison are getting beat handily by USD. Unlikely NDSU will be a top 2 seed. Probably a 4 or a 5. USD likely in the tourney now.

MBB Final: USD 72, NDSU 58.

Bison not the same without Paul Miller.

MBB Final: ORU 77, IUPUI 56.

USD and ORU still in 7th and 8th at 4-8.

Bison destined for a 4-6 seed.
