I generally perfer to wait till the game is esentially over either way, and take a minute to sub in the bench seniors if they are not in and sub them out one at a time. Since Nagy usually has time outs to burn might see that employed unless the game goes down to the final second.

I'm a big fan of Moffitt. I think Nagy once referred to him as the best walk-on player in D-1...Parks has said as much too, demonstrating the admiration Moffitt has earned from his teammates. He's been a criticial component to our success. He's also a great person and very sharp (Pharmacy).

I'd just as soon the Jacks take care of business tonight...

MBB: USD is finally going to clinch a spot in the SLT. They are going to win in Indy.

EDIT: USD wins 85-82 and lead pretty much throughout the game.

So Omaha just beat ORU (102-98) so here's where the SL stands.

            1. IPFW (They lead WIU 39-34 at half; if they win, they are the #1).
            2. SDSU
            3. Omaha (locked in to the 3)
            4/5 IUPUI
4/5 NDSU (They will be playing on Sunday for sure)
            6 Denver
            7 ORU
            8 USD

There's a good chance of a 3 way tie for 6th after Saturday's games. NDSU needs to beat DU, ORU needs to lose to SDSU, and USD needs to win at WIU for all the teams to be tied at 6-10.

If that happens, I believe DU would be the 6 seed as they are 3-1 against USD/ORU. Then, USD would own the tiebreaker over ORU by being 2-0 against them.

IF that happens .... it could still be USD-SDSU at the SLT.

IPFW wins 87-75; they are the #1 seed.

              1. IPFW (locked)
              2. SDSU (locked)
              3. Omaha (locked)
              4/5 NDSU and IUPUI
              6. Denver
              7. ORU
              8. USD.

Now, USD can't pass Denver so they will either be a 7 or 8.

USD win + ORU loss will earn a 7 seed for the Coyotes

Even in a 3 way tie for 6th, I believe DU would be 6; USD 7; ORU 8.

What ever we can do to play oru in the first round would be best I think. Wouldn't mind denver to help prep for ndsu.

USD first round upset of IPFW, win against a depleted NDSU, and then an epic championship game of USD/SDSU on national television?

By epic do you mean 15-20 point blowout?

Doesn't really matter who they play. They can beat anyone in this conference by 15. We will be favored in any matchup in the tourney including FW. Just have to get it done.

Only thing I wish would've happened was IUPUI getting the #3 seed. I'd rather face them in the semi's than Omaha.

The potential game against Omaha could be a 100-90 type game and then they'd have to come right back the next night and face FW for the title. Will be tough on guys like Marshall and Bittle, who are nursing some nagging injuries.

Still, I expect the Jacks to win the SLT with the large crowd behind them.

Depends on which summit league refs show up. the ones that call 10 fouls a game or 40 a game. If they are calling fouls, and a lot of time scoring is little lower during the tournament. It might be hard for omaha to keep that scoring pace. espcially playing back to back days. Same with FW, can their 2 players shoot lights out every game. Often times in the tourney it comes down to having an X factor. Omaha could have one, we do. maybe NDSU. FW not sure they do. They are sort of a 2 man show. Just a really good 2 man show.

Man I cant wait. sadly our tickets arent as good as they have been previous years. but should be fun. hope to have the kids there for several games.

Agree with your take on the refs. They were calling fouls on the NDSU bigs last night that were not fouls. Has to hard for a big to figure out how to defend in today's game.

The chance of getting fouls called increased a bunch when the Jackrabbits went to paint on the offense. Dex even tried to enhance his screen at the free throw line with the half step into the defender to pick up a foul that was similar to many Theisen had earlier in the season. Daum is quicker than the bison defenders and those hands and arms placed on the post should get attention. That might be why the double team was added in the second half. Foot work is the only remedy for the bigs to slow down the offensive player one on one or the double team must come. The bison received a lot of calls on the perimeter from our guards too, but that is where they operated the offense. The spread in personal fouls was very close until the last couple of minutes when NDSU was intentionally sending the Jackrabbits to the line. I would be happier if the refs called more travels on all teams too, but that does not seem to be happening and it is more objective than fouls if you can watch everything. Maybe we can get the refs computerized!

Honestly, there were at least three fouls on the NDSU bigs where Ian and Mike forced the contact and NDSU got the foul when I really thought they went "staight up". Other times, exact scenario no foul. They incredulously just stood there and asked for clarification. Daum spins nicely down low and maybe they were using hands more than I could see on TV. Agree on the travel calls, our guards are just as guilty but probably no fewer than 10 travels could be called every game so when they decide to call one, players are dumbfounded.

That being said, the next crew comes in and calls an entirely different game. Gotta be a thrill being a coach sometimes.
