RealTimeRPI is really quirky. For example. UConn WBB (10-0) is #3, behind two 1 loss teams, Stanford and Duke. Who beat Stanford and Duke? UConn, and neither game was close. At the end of the day, RealTimeRPI is usually one of the less accurate in predicting who's Dancing/NIT'ing, etc, than either Sagarin's or KenPom.

Bison beat Utah Valley 74-70 on the road. The refs threw Bjorklund out of the game in the first half, it was pure BS.

Saul said in the postgame...."We are getting out of here and never coming back."

Yes, that would be a typical Saul reaction. The fact is, the refs suck everywhere, and all teams get hosed on the road, especially out of conference. A nice win by the Bison.

Wow what was the situation bjoklund doesn't seem to be a guy who would get to hot headed or make dumb choices.

Doesn't seem like Saul at all. After games against us last year he would always talk about how great of games they were and he always seemed like a good dude. If he was that mad, I'm assuming something bad happened.

From what I can tell he collided with UVU's big man. It was all unintentional contact but after looking at the monitor for 10 minutes the refs decided to toss Marshall out of the game for hitting their player with an elbow. I was listening to the radio but I talked to my brother who was watching it and he said there wasn't really anything there or it was hard to tell really what happened.

I thought the team winning would have cooled Saul off a bit but he was absolutely livid about it in the postgame interview. I've never heard him so upset about the officiating before.

Sounded like an extremely physical game. Don't know if the refs called much on UVU, but Bison were spending a bunch of time on their butts after getting knocked down. Then there was the Bjorklund ejection that took the refs 10 min to figure out. (also a deadball foul on a UVU player during the same play). I wonder if the tipping point may have been the 4 fouls called on the Bison in 7 seconds of game time. Got to wonder what in the hell is going on at that point. On BV, someone posted a great Tim Miles line from a few years ago. I guess he said that Utah Valley must save money by having their players' parents ref the games.

But we'll take the win and get the heck out of Utah. One cupcake left(Mayville State) and then it's time for the real games as conference play starts.

Sounds like the CS-Bakersfield game last year, except NDSU escapes w/ a W. Definitely a game type where even Nagy may make comments.

Next up for the Jacks, UMKC - now conference mate to UVU. Hope 'Roos officiating still is of "Summit" quality rather than independent or WAC quality.

I was thinking of that CSB game also. These low-major OOC games are a crapshoot as far as officiating goes. I can't say I've seen Bjorklund lose his cool in the last few years either, so it is easy to be skeptical.

That CSU-Bakersfield ending from last year is still the worst phantom call I've seen in basketball when you factor in when it happened and what type of play it was. It was a literal "handing the home team the win."

The Christmas break is over tomorrow. There are many games for men and women. The Jacks have 2 winnable games this weekend at UMKC and UALR. Denver men play 3 games in 4 days to lead the activity. NDSU women will be in a tourney to play 2 games. The conference season is getting close. The W-L records are not far from the preseason conference guesses for the women.. The men have found Ft Wayne and Omaha looking for some respect as they have pushed ahead of the Jackrabbits and Pioneers. Home court will be important for all the teams wanting to be in the top half.
